Or, he might not. Although she's got a better chance than you, unless you want to spend a year learning to follow in AT

Anyway, I agree that the moderation in MJDA is strict, but that's the clearly-defined policy of MJDA.

Moderation in this forum, in terms of thread control, has been very low-key recently - this is not because of policy, but because there are 500+ posts a day, and there's not been enough people to keep track of them all.

To my mind, this has meant the forum getting a little bit too unruly - there've been a few episodes which have made me uncomfortable, and there's been a clear perception from some quarters that we're nothing but a bunch of argumentative so-and-sos. OK, fair enough, that's true for me and you, but it's not fair to the rest of the posters.

In "Pub discussion" terms, I feel there's been not enough friendly and welcoming "pull up a chair, mate" talk - it's been more "chairleg-breaking-over-the-head brawling" sometimes.

We're never going to get anywhere near MJDA-strictness, and I wouldn't want to. But I'd expect some more active moderation, which hopefully will improve and preserve the best parts of the atmosphere.
