I go to work and its half dark, I go home and its dark.
Its dank its not cold but its not warm
Where has the summer gone .
Never consider id suffer from SAD syndrome but maybe I do, maybe I really am a SAD person
Apart from going on a dance holiday to the gran canaries next week I cant think of anything that can lift me in the depths of winter
Do other people suffer from being SAD (season deficiency disorder). Ok im back under the duvet now with a torch looking at holiday brochures, tell me when its spring
The thing I hate most about winter is what it does to my skin. I always feel pale and pastey looking during the winter.
I wish I could have a tan all year without having slap on a load of fake stuff that looks like you have spilt gravy all over your legs & rubbed tan boot polish in to your elbows.
I need a holiday.
I like winter.
Spent all my summer this year in someone else's winter. And the same again next year.
Won't have seen summer for 3 years!
I'm sure there is at least one other thread about this...could someone be kind enough to help this technoclot?
Light boxes definitely help.
Try an aromatherapy oil to lift your mood. I use grapefruit and ginger oils iin the bath or diluted in a carrier oil and used as perfume; grapefruit wakes me with its fresh citrus smell and reminds me of the summer sun, ginger warms and comforts me.
You could consider homeopathy, herbs, the crystal 'sunstone' or even a flower essence/remedy too.

Well I'm a Scot.. it takes me a week of sunbathing just to turn white. I am naturally a very pale blue colour.
Me too.. apart from the continual falling down and landing on my backside. I lack the skills most kids form when out playing in the snow. I'm even more unsure on my feet in icy conditions than most elderly people. It got so bad I actually took to wearing knee, elbow and wrist pads to save the pain.. until people started laughing at me.. these days I use the ample padding on my derrière instead
I bought one of these and it makes a HUGE difference!
The one I bought was the Sunrise System UK Model SRS100UK, my alarm goes off at 06:00, so at about 05:30 it starts to very slowly and gradually turn my bedside light on, getting to full brightness after half an hour, when the alarm gently wakes me up to an already light room, its lovely.
They may be expensive, but they are well worth the investment, I get really down in the winter, I don't know if its SAD, but its down to the lack of sunlight, not the weather, this has really helped.
I get up at 6 every morning & get home at 6 at night. I don't think I have opened the curtains in my house this week. How depressing is that?
If I was rich, I would spend summer in England then go somewhere warm & light for our winter. Perhaps returning to England for 2 weeks for Christmas and New Year, to roast my chestnuts on an open fire.
Whether you suffer from SAD or not, I think most people get fed up with dark cold mornings and blue skin.
