    Re: Favourite Sweets

I just found Sherbet Fountains in my local Co-op
In the same old-fashioned packet, with the liquorice stick poking out of the top.

DT and I were reminiscing about childhood sweets a few days ago and both agreed that there's no way 'they' would allow Sherbet Fountains any more because of that uncovered piece of liquorice.

Shhh, don't tell the fun police.

chocolate wise it has to be milkyway crispy rolls!

sweet kind i would say fizzy cola bottles AND the huge jelly snakes. i miss going to my post office and getting them for 10 p each.

luckily in letchworth they have a shop called Annies, stuffed full of childhood favourites.

they do personalised jars with your selection of sweets for loved ones

for my friend lee's 16th birthday i bought one and filled it up with his favourite sweets. they put a personalised label on it and i gave it to him at prom.

here's a picture of me with lee's present

Nothing beats a "Melkesjokolade" (Norwegian Milk Chocolade), a Sports Lunch (swedish chocolate, kind of like a Kitcat) and Salt Pastiller (Salted Liquorice).
I wouldn't say I'd kill for it, but I'd certainly maim

The Hammersmith Skool Disco had a whole table of old classics, like Drumsticks, Fruit Salads etc.

Also, a machine at Southport stocks Texan Bars - remember those from the 70's. Love em and the fact that they were there recently.

MELKESJOKOLADE!!! Yummy yummy yummy yummy! I'm going to fill up my suitcase next time I go home.... Mmmmm......... And gain about a stone before next Southport!

Also like the above mentioned chocolate with hazelnuts (and Villemo can't have that, so more for me! ), and apparently there's now a new one with almonds and peanuts. Mmmm, can't wait...

I also have a weakness for really good marzipan in dark chocolate, but it has to be the Norwegian one from 'Nidar' or the proper German stuff from Lubeck.

Green and Blacks and Lindt ain't bad, either.

As for other types of sweeties, no thanks. Give me good quality chocolate any day - but keep your Cadburys for yourselves. I only eat it in an emergency.
