Yesterday as I drove to work, a doubly nasty occurence as I was running late following an incident with two alarmclocks, a radio and a telephone. But as I drove through the leafy lanes from the little village where I am boarded toward the Heathrow area absolutely nothing unusual happened.
Yeah I hear you all saying - Interesting Post NOT!
However this morning, driving yet again toward Heathrow, fortunately this time earlier and more relaxed, through the leafy lanes something happened!
. . . . . . . Colour!
Gold, yellow, amber, russet, orange. They weren't there yesterday but today the trees were a sight to behold. To an unreligious heathen as I am I was quite surprised by the depth of pleasure that my eyes were giving me.
I really don't want to sit here in this office today now I want to go and take a flask of coffee and a good woman and just go and enjoy nature.
Nice one God! (she did a good job I think!)

"If you're going to do something tonight, that you know you'll be sorry for in the morning, plan a lie in." Lorraine
"I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and for you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world."
Sorry have that song in my head now.. Up here in Scotland we've had the really autumnal leaves for sometime. I came into work .. oh .. last week? and the tree's were all reds, golds, coppers, yellows etc the sky was just begging to lighten and the warm sunrise light made it all look very spectacular.
It's nice to get pleasure from the simple things in life isn't it?
I hear babies cryin', I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world
best lyrics of that song and so true....
CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE...
I love this time of year (and around February time too ) for the quality of the light we get... My route to work takes me past a couple of churches and also Glasgow Uni main building...
In Autumn and Spring I go to work looking at stunning gold foiled church silouettes in the dawn. I come back to the most amazing Sunsets surrounding the spires of the chapel in Glasgow Uni.
I can survive getting up on the horrible dark wet mornings, and hiding beside the fire with hot chocolate at the weekends as long as I can see the stunning effects that nature paints in the sky on those nippy days..
