I agree with you that it is not nice to take the p1ss, but, this old guy did run his hands down the tits of another forumite that I know, while dancing & does spend his time being 'inappropriate'.

You kind of get the impression that he uses his 'oldness' as an excuse for being a perv, as he knows no one is likely to kick him in the b0110ck5 for havong a quick feel up.

Having said that....if he did it to me, I'd punch his lights out.

the Corpse in aerials class is not even remotely funny and extremely dangerous, surely nobody partnered him. SURELY NOT...

This was my first weekender & I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!

Downstairs on Fri night was the best for me & also Witty's birthday, but just meeting so many fellow Forumites -
Witty Bird (I could watch you dance all day ), Chef, Minnie M, Taz, Ducasi, Silver Fox, Jaime & all the others, especially Fletch who took me under her wing - Thankyou!

Only downsides for me were the uneven floor, too many women over in class & sleep deprivation

So many amazing dances with both forum & non-forumites, I can't wait for my next weekender (Southport)

Re: Camber Nov 06 The Aftermath

Get comfortable, this could take a while

I had a great weekend, as MikeyR said you make your own fun and it's the people that make it for me. Missed a few special people but hey ho, you win some you lose some

Started off on Thursday night in the pub playing pool with Ducasi, Trouble, Double Trouble and Jamie Unfortunately I got poisoned, nearly passed out and had to be escorted to the ladies where I made friends with God. Thanks to Trouble for being my nurse and to Ducasi for taking me back to the Villa It was only afterwards when I remembered being told not to take Codeine

It was great checking in on Thursday and being able to chill out in the pub Shame about the woman behind the bar if she'd had a personality she would be dangerous, I don't think it helped when I asked her for 'a pint of personality please' she said 'we only have Kronenberg' :watt:

Friday was great with Freestyle in the main room from 11am there were some great tracks played. I was sat watching Taz leading Jamie when I got asked to dance with the line ' Would you like to dance with the DJ'
I should've replied with 'if you think you can handle it' but I just laughed and said 'No, but I'll dance with you' :snigger:

Enjoyed Friday night up until I heard about a game being played by a group of people in the blues roomgotta say I was absolutely disgusted by the lack of respect for other dancers in the blues room by this group of people. :w@nkers:

Saturday was great and my party was buzzing it was great to see such a good turnout, Thank you for all my lovely pressies. Big Thank you goes out to my bestest Fletch for organising it balloons, banners and a cake with my face on, I think it only scared a few people Unfortunately the heart on the diamond bracelet she bought me came off and I never found it. I was absolutely Gutted as the sentiment to which it was given to me and the little speech had nearly reduced me to tears Only the usual suspects left at 9.30am in the blues room so myself and Cruella called it a day and went to bed.

Sunday was lovely as usual and I even managed to do a class, thanks to Ducasi for partnering me in it and to MickS and Tinkerbell for the laughs and translation into English throughout the class, Gotta say this is the first time I had seen Graham Fox and Cristina teach and I enjoyed it, well taught and interesting with RogerC then playing WCS in the bar for the next 2 hours Infact I think it's the first time I've done a class at a weekender

Nice to meet and Dance with new people. Made some interesting and lovely new discoveries - Thanks Cruella for sharing your discovery with me

Thank you to all the special people who made my weekend what it was.
Thank you to all the people who attended my party you're all great
Thank you to my chalet mates for putting up with my foul mood on Sunday morning.

I laughed all weekend with so many people, had some amazing dances I'm not naming names and I didn't have a bad dance all weekend

Jamie you are filthy definately in the genes Fletch if you're gonna pull my top down while I'm giving Jamie a lapdance will you please give me some notice, so I don't in future hide my head in his lap out of embarrassment (while laughing my head off) and make it look like a 1990's porn film :snigger:

Thank you to everyone who participated in my birthday dance You all made me feel very special.

It was great meeting and spending time with new forumites as well as old.

Biggest surprise of the weekend was Franco coming up to me on Saturday afternoon with a bottle of Moet and saying 'Happy Birthday' Thank you.

    Whens the next one?

    Good
I enjoyed Graham and Cristina's cabaret a lot and was lucky enough to dance with her later that evening. She is fab
The pub setting was great for afternoon dancing and socialising
    Some new discoveries
Interesting man 2 man dances (Jamie's a star)
    New shoes - cuban heels!

    Bad
I still hate the temporary flooring that JiveTime use - every other step seems to catch a heel. Gives you no confidence to dance.
Not being on my best behaviour and letting people down.
Maybe not 'bad' but the number of people bailing out of Simon B's advanced jive class (which he presented very well and energetically I should add) gingerly rubbing their shoulders made me glad I was watching and not taking part.
I still haven't learned that drinking and dancing all night without taking water on board leads to unpleasant dehydration for most of the next day.

Re: Camber Nov 06 The Aftermath

I had a really great time in Camber – I'm really glad I came along (big thanks to Wittybird for persuading me to come along. )

Outside of the dancing, etc., the thing that makes a weekend is the company you have, and the company I had was second to none. All my roommates were great company – we had such a good laugh. Especially with Taz – she's just lovely.

Was also good to meet lots of new folks, and all the familiar faces. (Shame there wasn't more Scots there.) Special mention for Jamie, for being a top bloke, and an awesome dancer.

As for the dancing... I had so many really fab dances with so many people – I ache so bad today!

One of the best bits of a weekender is making new discoveries – those really great dancers you just click with – and I made several rather fab discoveries this weekend... Not going to mention any names here, but perhaps if they read this they'll know who they are. (Hope those that are on the forum will post their comments too.) Really loved dancing with you!

Music-wise, upstairs was all-right, though I think some of the DJs could have been a little bit more adventurous and thrown away that worn-out "modern jive hits of the 90's" CD they own. Also, it appeared to a few of us that one of the sets on Saturday during the day was *identical* to the set played by that DJ on Friday. Most of the time I thought the sound system was too loud, and as someone else said, a bit dodgy at times.

Downstairs the latin room did exactly what it said on the tin. Feel sorry for the DJs there though that were too often playing to just a few couples. Though the floor really isn't big enough for a big crowd anyway.

The "swing and blues" room music was good when it was that more chilled music that we call "blues". The swing music would have been better somewhere else entirely – maybe in a latin and swing room.

On Sunday night I noticed we had a DJ who seemed to lack patience and would start the next song before the previous one had finished – while talking over both of them. (I can't remember which room this was...) Please let songs finish before playing the next one, and it you have to talk, do so between or at the start of songs.

The one thing I disliked most about Camber was the temporary floors – they were simply awful. After the cabaret on Saturday we were told there would be new floors both upstairs and down next year, but it wasn't clear whether than was the permanent dance floors (which I found alright) or the temporary ones.

I also found the heat in all the rooms to be, at times, unbearable – but if what woodface says is true, then hopefully will be better in the future.

I can't compare it against previous or other events at Camber, but I can compare against Southport. I'm trying hard to think of things that are better at Camber compared to Southport – maybe the only thing is that the blues room is bigger (but it's still not better in quality.)

Things which could be made better at Camber...
    • The presentation – Southport has much slicker production values – e.g. glossy brochures and booklets, large colour timetable posters for each room. All the information you need together.
    • A permanent blues room – one of the best things about Southport is the way that the blues room seems to run 24 hours a day over the weekend, playing chilled out music during the day.
    • Bigger names – both on the teacher and DJ side. Camber doesn't seem to make a big deal about the DJs it employs, maybe because there usually isn't a big deal to be made. Also, a few exclusive or very high profile teachers would be an extra draw...

Over-all I enjoyed the weekend though. I enjoyed all the dancing, the two (and a bit) classes I did with Taz (lap-dancing ) and Witty (WCS entertainingly taught by Scotland's own Graham Fox with Christina), and everything else.

I missed the company of those who couldn't make it though.

I was glad to catch Graham & Christina's cabaret performance. Just shows you don't have to be American to put a really entertaining WCS performance together. (Helps to be Scottish though. )

I enjoyed Witty's birthday party, cake was lovely – as was Cruella's birthday cake.

So, big thanks to everyone – for the dances, company, organisation, lifts, cake, laughs, hugs and cuddles.

I had a great time this weekend... thanks to Fletch and Witty for introducing me to lots of people. Had some amazing dances, in fact the dancing was just brilliant, especially in the afternoons in the bar and early hours of the morning in the blues room. The only problem is finding time to eat and sleep! Had a nice west coast with Jamie on Friday afternoon, cheers for that Jamie, didnt manage to get much more wcs in over the weekend, having said that I had some great dances full of musical interpretation and fun!.... would have liked a more advanced west coast class though. Watched Graham and Cristina teach rumba, really refreshing style of teaching, fantastic!

In all it was great fun, thanks to Silver Fox for making me laugh so much! Anne, Noel and Julia my chalet mates for their great company, Andy for his neck massages and Ibuprofen!...and Blueshoes for the chocolate cake.

for once I have to say Witty's language isn't strong enough.

I was witness to something 'going on' in the blues room but wasn't sure what it was, when I discovered what these individual were doing, I had to go up stairs to dance, I was so angry I didn't feel I would be able to contain myself from behaving in appropriately.

I'm all for a bit of fun, but not at any cost and certainly not to degrade individuals.

We are all on a journey, some are further down the road than others, weather that is dance ablility, looks, size etc, live and let live 'eh!

Re: Camber Nov 06 The Aftermath

I echo lots of comments already made. It is about meeting up with great people, socialising, having fun and making the weekend exactly what you want it to be.

Have to agree the flooring was extremely poor, but as I danced virtually the whole weekend on the floor in front of the stage in the downstairs blues room, I was quite happy.

I am sure Franco is disappointed that numbers were down, but from a purely selfish point of view, in particular Saturday evening, it was great to have space to dance.

Music downstairs was execellent - Trampy not only are you a great DJ but a class dancer as well

Jamie, you are a delight to dance with and I loved your physical interpretation to the track that goes "How to you like your eggs in the morning, I like mine with a kiss" and each time the word kiss was sung, you planted a very sweet kiss. Missed you on Sunday evening.

And Raph, Sunday evening in front of the scaffold pole , what can I say except it is no wonder my forum name gets altered to Dirty Bird - you are so, so bad - just don't ever change.

Nice to see all my forum friends again - you all know who you are - and so many wonderful dances.

I for one will be booking again for next year.

I dont get luvvy to often (even after sleep deprevation), and even less so about teachers. I had agreed to do both the cha cha and the rumba class as a fixed partner because of the Rythm of these dances and the need for a clear lead.

I was blown away by how easily they taught their routines which contained some intermediate moves. The skill and experience of Graeme & Christina was plainly obvious and the way they interacted with the class the best I have seen in any dance style.

I unfortunately missed the WCS class but by all accounts it was in the same class. I even went to watch their Cabaret.....I dont do cabarets, cabarets are generally evil to my mind

Sadly I missed the opportunity to pass on this feedback to Graeme & Christina themselves, so if anyone out there knows them please convey these comments.

To weekender/workshop organisers BOOK these people they are top class.

Re: Camber Nov 06 The Aftermath

    Alright...

Now my rant's over about missing Sunday night (and missing Raph in 'play mode' ) I guess I better tell my good and bad points:

Travelling down on the thursday night was such a huge help to me, it gave me a chance to meet a few people and also gave me chance to get a good nights kip before the weekend (obviously it wasn't enough!! lol)

Friday, myself and Serana went up to the main hall about 11 and had a good few hours there... Met Taz up there actually, she taught me a fab move, very good dancer, she is. Also had a few WCS dances with Witty, bless her, she didn't know what she was letting herself in for. Even ma dad told me to be careful of her but in the end she ended up blushing..

Friday night was good, except I could only stand about half an hour in the main room (well, I stuck it out until Chelsea arrived!) then had to go down to the blues room! - Had fab dances with Chelsea, as always, many good dances with Witty.. Stole Witty aswell during her birthday dance! And afterwards, had to give her her birthday present, she loved it! LOL

Only bad thing about the friday night was the blues room was dead about half 5... So I ended up going to bed.

Saturday was fun, Chelsea hadn't done a strictly sinful class before, I will be getting pics shortly! Shall be posting! HAHA

Lapdancing was also good, glad he stuck with "bad boy", it worked very well.. Also that couple that got on stage, well done to them!

Saturday night was fab, again got a good feel of witty and a good position was attained for at least 5 minutes while she regained her dignity! Fletch, if you do that again, at least let me see it! I think I was the only one who didn't see! LOL. Bless ya witty.

Also, big thanks to Taz for my dances, had some really sexy smooth dances with her, and she even burnin flamed me! HAHA ave it!

Had tons of fun in the pub at wittys birthday doo, granted I missed most of the start but I got there at least to give her a good seeing to, and a dance aswell! Cruella, my darling.. Loved the dances saturday night, hope my WCS has improved since the last time we met! and Fletch, thanks for the dances, albeit few, I could never get you! So bloody popular.. Thanks for the haribo tho, where are the pictures that were promised? LOL. Thanks to RobD aswell, had a great dance with you mate, hope to have more soon! And TopBird, haha, I do like my toast with a kiss and my eggs with a hug, as you found out with that dance! lol.. Fab dances babes!

Had a 'fan dance' with Issabelle, I believe her name was, very good dance, I think she said she was french.. Beautiful young lady, will have to dance with her again, don't know if she's on the forum. It got photo'd tho! Can't wait to see all these photo's!

Got asked if Raph was my boyfriend, which was quite funny. Altho we were going to play on that on the sunday.. We had plans for you too trampy! also, thanks to Raph for the great dance and for sitting with me on reception when everyone else had buggered off! Top bloke, look forward to seein you again matey.

Thanks also to Trampy for throwing me around in the air around 8am sunday morning, that was... fun... lol. Loved the music too mate, however by the end of sunday morning I was ready for collapsing!

Sunday was a bit crap for me unfortunately, not only did I agree to sit on reception (altho it was incredibly fun at times - and thanks for everyone who came n said hello - Luv ya Minnie M - will need a dance off you later!) but I didn't get a bloody dance all day! OR all night!

But anyway, Sunday aside, the weekend was loads of fun, made tons of friends, Ducasi, great guy.. Didn't manage to get to learn those WCS moves, you'll have to remember em for the next time we meet!

Also, met a nice guy and I believe was his wife/fiancee.. Can't remember their forum names tho! Gimme a shout via PM guys, loved the dances. You're the first guy who's asked me to lead him and I was very impressed.

The pole partys were fun back at the Chalet tho! LOL, thanks Heidi and Marianne for my food!

DangerousCurves, you sexy baby - Thanks for everything

Think I've gone on enough now, so just a final thankyou to everyone who danced with me this weekend, you're all fab, thanks for the comments on the hat aswell I think everyone had worn it by the end of the weekend lol!

Hope to see everyone again REAL SOON!!

I had a really lovely weekend. I didn't dance anywhere near as much as I normally do but it was great all the same.

I agree with alot whats been said already but inparticular about the flooring it was coming apart from friday daytime I found this really annoying and difficult to find somewhere I would consider safe to dance

It was lovely to meet loads more forumites in particular young Jamie it is difficult to believe you have only been dancing 6 months it is soo nice to meet and dance with someone as playful as you and your eye contact was fab throughout

It was also great to spend some time with Ducasi and Trousers you guys are great and it was fab getting to know you both better this weekend, you can both come join me in bed again anytime Cruella you missed out there babes

I only done 1 and a biit classes both with Ducasi, the lap dancing being the best, it was soo hard to keep a straight face (you bad bad boy)

Some fab tunes from Trampy throughout the weekend

Big thanks to everyone I danced with this weekend I didn't have a bad dance all weekend. Also a big thanks to Trampy for picking me up and spinning me round in circles until I was so dizzy I could barely stand

Only regrets from the weekend Not getting a dance with some of my favorite dancers Spice n easy, Silver fox and RobD and CentrAlex not being able to attend Missed you babes
