National Stress Awareness Day – 1st November 2006
Dear Friend,
I would like to encourage you to support the International Stress Management Association by taking part in SMILE AWAY STRESS on National Stress Awareness Day on Wednesday 1 November.
By sending out a message through as many mediums as possible throughout the day, the aim is to create a mass smile, when at 2pm anyone can stop, wherever they are, for just a minute and smile, think good thoughts, say kind words and experience the benefits to not just their anxiety levels but to those around them.
We want to encourage as many people as possible to -
STOP STRESS – PASS ON A SMILE!
Join in with one of our most valuable techniques- The Inner Smile.
Find a comfortable position in a straight back chair and close your eyes. Take 3 long breaths in and out then smile. Focus on your scalp, then slowly downwards across your face, your forehead, eyes, cheeks, lips, tongue, jaw etc. Smile to each of your organs and imagine a gentle wave of relaxation flowing down through your body all the way down to your toes.
Taking the time to do this just once a day – makes a massive difference to your stress levels.
