Pah!
Four hours later and I see no one else has posted their list of nice stuff - which only goes to show what I suspected all along - that moaning is more fun.
That's absolutely the last time I go all Pollyanna.
Just to show that I'm not a completely miserable old scrote....
Stuff I like, for the room next door:
1. Hot chocolate, especially with whipped cream spewing out of it like some kind of volcanic eruption. Fab.
2. Rats. They have huge entertainment value and come in loads of pretty colours.
3. Roses, especially if they're still flowering near Christmas. Yummy.
4. People who make me laugh, even if it's a cheap laugh and at their expense.
5. Picture books, especially ones on nature or fashion history. I have a minor obsession with bustles and crinolines.
6. Having a dance where I haven't felt the need to apologise too many times.
7. My mother's cooking. Unbeatable. Especially as I cannot cook to save my life.
8. Lavender. Despite being informed that it's for old ladies.
9. African Wild Dogs. Though I gather it's not a good idea to be downwind of them at feeding time.
10. My bed.

Ok, if it makes you feel better, here are mine.
1. Hugs. Particularly from really special people, but all hugs are good.
2. Playing just the right song that makes everyone in the room get up and start dancing - or being on the receiving end of said right song being played.
3. Getting lost in a good book or computer game and losing two hours of your life in it, but not having to worry about it because you had nothing else specific to do with them.
4. On the lavender theme - vanilla and ylang ylang.
5. Waking up in the arms of someone who makes you feel loved.
Not in any particular order:
- Tiramisu
- Big fat soft 'fish & chip shop' chips
- Being in love
- Laughing
- Cats
- Just getting in the car late at night, putting some good music on and driving - doesn't matter where to, in fact it's better if you don't know where you're going to end up!
- Being made to feel that you're cared about
- Long, comfortable silences where you don't feel you should be saying something
- Emva Cream sherry and Baileys (not together!)
- Roast dinners
- Going for a walk while it's snowing - huge big swirling flakes, bright sunshine, not too cold and no wind!
- And of course dancing to a special song with a special someone
Thnking of all these wonderful things has really set me up for a fantastic day!
1. Rain drops on roses
2. Whiskers on kittens
3. Bright copper kettles
4. warm woolen mittens
5. Brown paper packages tied up with string
6. Cream-colored ponies
7. Crisp apple strudels
8. Doorbells and sleigh bells
9. Schnitzel with noodles
10 Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
just a few of my favorite things...
1. A fluffy, soft blanket
2. Hot blackcurrant drink in winter
3. Poirot reruns on ITV3
4. Part-singing (although preferably not German folk songs nor Neil Young)
5. Velvet
6. Rose Otto body lotion
7. Fresh, ripe mango on the stone and an absence of polite company
8. Newly washed Egyptian cotton sheets & bedding
9. An afternoon pot of Lapsang Souchong tea
10. Tulips
An empty beach
Sunrise
