If anyone wants only to glide, they can go into one of the many blues rooms out there (if they're approved of course ) and join the elite ranks of smooth dancers.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I will lodge myself permanently in the Blues room then

Genie, you must be an amazing dancer then, perhaps you could introduce some newbies to the blues room too and show them how its done

lol, no. But I do like the 'smooth' dancers, and now I know where they're hiding

Its all about personal style and preference. I like smooth. I always say 'I can't do funky' but its more that I don't want to so I can't be bothered to learn it. I think it looks great when others do it (to the right sort of music) but it doesn't feel so good to do it.

So bouncy, smooth, funky, whatever - do what you enjoy, what fits the music and fits you and you will always find others who have the same style as you and will therefore love to dance with you.

Depends a lot for me too on what I'm wearing. I really don't want to do funky in heels and a skirt. And on the music. Some music says bounce, some says smooth. So I guess people's style will be influenced on the sort of music they like and vice versa.

I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll invest in a pair of ceroc trainers. It's difficult to bounce in heels...
