Girls never say what they "really" mean. Consider the simple word "maybe" or the word "perhaps". Both words clearly mean that there is a chance that something could happen. In my experience those words, uttered by a lady, mean "no chance, shut up and don't ask again".

Re: Just a friendly reminder....
I just found these, quite nice to wear with Jeans, linen or light colours or even, dare I say it 'shorts' :eyebrow:

Neither do sandals with socks, formal brown shoes or boots! :WetHaddock:
If you 'have to' wear shorts, make sure they are LONG and you wear Deck shoes, plimsoles or sneakers
and lots of deodorant! :D
As to shorts... from the land of shorts and vest tops...
A quote from the dance co web site... Gold Coast Aussie.
"So, don't wear shorts (shorts and dancing is a bad look guys), avoid joggers (they'll stick you to the floor, avoid sleeveless shirts guys as the girls don't want your bare armpit in their face."
They tell it true in the land of the kangaroo...

Of course it's 40 degrees warmer most of the year, so they have a lot of incentive to

If you really think it's too hot for you to wear a light pair of trousers, then don't dance.
Problem. Solved.
I know this seems like a strange question, but is there an official Ceroc policy on shorts now? It's just that I've heard a rumour about a chap being approached regarding his, but I don't know whether someone's misunderstood and it's been twisted?

To say they're banned? Or compulsory? Or only permitted if your knees are judged (by whom?) to be sufficiently shapely?:what:

Well, I didn't like to say too much! It seems ridiculous that he's been told not to wear them! And this was at Southport. :what: It's a wind-up, right?
Re: Just a friendly reminder....
I believe the problem arises when it's hotpants and a ..well built man.
Or should that be, the problem dangles..
Trousers are hot to dance in, but I don't want to dance in shorts - not least because shorts+socks are a clear 'no!' and I need socks on to avoid blisters (while dancing - bare feet + 'sports' sandals are great for general strolling).
The answer would clearly be to wear a light summer kilt. I think the girls call them 'skirts'..

If it's possible to make a serious point here  I've seen plenty of men at the gym - if they're going to wear short shorts - wear a pair of tight shorts under a pair of baggy shorts. So, the question of style aside, if you do want to wear shorts then this is a workable option.

I know a guy who does dance in a kilt/skirt. I've never enquired as to what may or may not be underneath.

I think most of us know what one certain and very experienced dancer 'wears' under his kilt
