Non-dancing You Tube videos
http://www.youtube.com/v/RB-wUgnyGv0
This video is from a TV show where people said, "Hey, I have talent!" and judges decide if they do or not. When this couple did their act, there was no question. Everyone was floored. Also, it will look much clearer if you don't run it full screen. The bigger the picture the fuzzier it will look.
(And it is perfectly safe for work)

Apparently no-one was interested in the story - loads of people called in about the tea lady in the background.

This link will get the video at the right size, though some of the comments on the page are not "safe for work."
Pretty incredible act. Clearly many of the costumes are the same with different layers, but still – wow! :respect:

Sorry to be contrary, but that's one's more a matter of patience than anything else. The "custom" slides to send the balls in fixed directions somewhat defeats the object if you ask me. (And these things are always much easier on American pool tables with pockets the size of saucers).

Well - I'm glad it was so easy. Wouldn't want to think it was difficult. Look forward to your demo of it at the next weekender

A clip I particularly liked was; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDkAh73SJH4&NR since it's such a well known, and topical song, where I can actually hear the words as they relate to the signing and the musical interpretion.
I really do hope you're gaining something from your involvement with dance and are able to connect with partners in a meaningful way.

This isn't really funny.. ( oh I'm so bad..!!)
anyway.. my work Mate Jonathan and his partner have a horse. And he was spraying it with something ( I know not).. anyway SOMETHING happened and he sent the video round his "friends" here at work.
who forwarded it onto their friends.. and to their friends.. etc..
well it's just turned up on YouTube now ..
I feel sorry for the guy honestly I do.. I saw the bruise and how he could hardly walk for a fortnight.. but since it's on You Tube anyway now..

I quite agree it was awesome BUT i'm totally confused............
OK, it's years since i've played the guitar and to add to that, I only had an acoustic one but there's something weird about this video that I don't understand.
The kid appears to be playing with a single plectrum but oddly, he didn't seem to pluck every string he was playing with left hand, especially the base notes (the ones highest on the guitar) also, towards the end, during a fast bit, he only seemed to pluck about every forth note...
But at the same time, his left hand, looked quite convincing, going tem to the dozen... But he can't make a sound with his left hand alone, surely? I'm confused!
Please could someone who knows more about electric guitar playing than me, is there some gismo, that strums/plucks the strings for you, please help me understand how this could work? :flower:

there is a way of playing using your fingers on the left hand to "hammer on" and "pull off" strings creating the notes.
You can't really do this with an acoustic guitar (Well not to this effect). It's more common in Metal playing.
This is an ever exagerated version of it using both hands

1) He is playing to a backing track which has drums, bass and some other guitars (I can't be sure, but I think 2 other gtrs.)
2) He is incorporating various techniques...
a: As Woodface says, there are hammer-on and pull offs.
b: there is also some right hand tapping going on...
c: a technique called "sweep picking". Here, the right hand sweeps up (which is physically down) and back down again, hitting the top 3 or 4 strings...
(at this point, I should say the high notes are lower and closer to the guitar as you look at it, the low notes are further from the body and on the "top" strings!! Confused, yet?? If you watch it, after some high sustained notes, he goes into a sequence of low (bass) chuggy notes, with higher squealy notes in between: watch his hands travel down the neck to hit these higher notes.)
c: (contd) as the right hand sweeps the string, he hammers on left hand fingers so each pluck makes 3 (or more) sounds. It creates lovely scale passages and is very diificult to do.
more examples can be found by this band:rofl::rofl:
I hope this helps...

Re: Non-dancing You Tube videos
Quite a cool video IMO, and has a connection to dancing, in that it's the guy responsible for me getting into dancing.
The underwater scenes were shot in Sealife Centre (Weymouth) around 1987. The bass guitarist was also in there, and she was terrified of having fish swin around her while she played.
