Aaargh. Don't tell me that. It'll wake me up in the night in a cold sweat for weeks.
I've never had a windscreen go whilst driving. I did crack the windscreen on the Corsa whilst loading a long, heavy piece of wood into the car. I put that down as "Stupidity Tax", self-imposed on a random, though regular basis.
If it helps the sweats, you might like to know that my Fiesta heated screen survived for 10 years and nearly 100k miles, despite some worryingly sized chips, prompt repairs meant no more trouble.
On the other hand, the rearview mirror fell off 3 times, the first 2 times I carefully stuck it back with the appropriate mirror kit, the third time it came away with a big chunk of glass, which no one would repair.
Despite that it was the most reliable car I've owned, and economical, only one set of tyres needed on the back for all those miles. And more fun to drive than most cars I've driven.
