all depends if you have your video cam turned on :whistle:
On the internet it can sometimes be difficult to judge if a person is serious, sarcastic, ironic, joking etc, as you can't see his or her facial expressions, or hear their tone of voice. Therefore, smileys are an excellent way of making sure people know that you're joking (or being sarcastic etc...)!Quote:

I think it's poor form to add :rofl: to your own jokes.
a) whatever you've written probably isn't that funny
b) if you need a smiley to make it obvious that it's intended to be funny, it really isn't that funny
c) if you want a smiley to make it clear that you're talking "tongue in cheek" I'd suggest :wink: instead
Anyway, that's my "bah! humbug!" opinion.
If you think the people are too dumb to get your jokes, the addition of a laughing smiley is quite acceptable :rofl:
