I am sure someone will have the details.

By the way, now that you have all come back down to earth from the week-end, any more news on the possibility of a Scottish tour for the winning team?

Franck.

The suits were from Utopia Costumes in Dundee. I think Elaine is friends with the guy who runs it. They do all the costumes for theatres and stuff,.....if thats any help to you :D

Another couple of States sites are

http://www.zootsuitstore.com and
http://www.elpachuco.com

Another option if you can do a bit of sewing (or you know someone else who can) is to buy a pattern and material.

I got a zoot suit pattern from John Lewis' in Glasgow.

....ooohhh!!!! I feel a pair of black and white shoes coming on and to hell with the consequences.... Great websites, great merchandise but no sign of suits for girls (or for that matter frocks for boys :waycool: )

Amanda

I don't think girl's wore zoot suits in the 30's and 40's. :) . But if you're looking for retro clothing for girl's, check out:-

Yes the internet sites are really great, but the clothes are very expensive. Who was it that mentioned Credit Card Meltdown!!!!!
You can, of course,if you can sew or know a dressmaker, make your own clothes.
Butterick, Vogue, and Simplicity all do a Retro collection of patterns located either in their own section or under Costumes/Fancy dress.
I have been making my own swirly panelled skirts for some time now (Sorry I won't take orders -much too busy!!!), and have had lots of comments from fellow dancers asking where I got them.
I make quite a lot of my clothes these days- at least you get something original and in the colours YOU want, not what the shops dictate, they also fit better too. (Especially if you're planning to go out without your underwear, which I'm most definitely NOT!!!!!!!!)

:really: Glad to hear that you blokes don't all think like that. ( I can't do the quote thingy either!!).
I must say it really has put some of us off coming up to Aberdeen, as we used to quite regularly, with the thought that some of the guys were taking a more than passing interest in our posteriors!!!!!

Hey, I would like to point out that the Commando thread was started (as a joke!) by women!!! :really:
Us men are far too busy worrying about leading and what move to do (see other threads) to pay that much attention to posteriors (clothed or otherwise). :nice:
Maybe when you do make it to Aberdeen, I will manage a dance this time

Franck.

....and as the commando-in-chief (and a girly) I'll put my hands up and take full responsibility for this whole subject. Up here in the north east we really do know how to knit our own fun. :waycool:

This thread is meant to be about zoot suits - how on earth has it drifted off into the world of the pantless? Sudden inspiration - what would a zoot kilt look like - could this be a whole new ceroc look pioneered in Scotland?
