To steal Chicklets quote about the Champs weekend, ie "The Tour", I'd just like to mention that I've just received an email stating that there is going to be a Champs warm up party on the Saturday in Chiswick (which is cunningly near Acton).

Furthermore, it states that a certain Kilted Franck will be teaching at it. Apologies if this is old news to some of you, but I didn't know, so I thought I'd post it anyway. I think the Ceroc London website has got a phone number to book tickets on.

I can now see at least a 36 hour window opening up where I'm not going to get any sleep. :waycool:

Everybody knew this, which is why my services were required as a ringer cos
1)I can drink like a fish
2)I will park the yellow concorde out the back so i can change outfits every half hour so you think you're working on the whole team
3) it'll be years before they let me on a team so I'll have time to dry out again

but actually they are all out on the floor perfecting things and practicing the acceptance speech !!!!!:D

but most of all, I'm looking forward to that feeling when the sheer terror has subsided, you've got through the round without either falling over or forgetting every move you've ever learned, the music ends and the realisation hits you that you danced your little heart out...

Month End. Been working since before 7, in need of a small snooze.

Maybe not drag then, escort (vb)

Not sure abou the last, will have to enquire further.

Anyway, tell us about the Chiswick place, how does one get there from Acton and how big is it and how late will it go on and will lots of the lovely local ladies and gentlemen be in their pearly outfits ?

What kind of music will they play???

Just thought - they're not letting Franck do that as well as the kiltylesson are they?

Okie, I'll go with (an) escort :D

Chiswick isn't that far from Acton, but a bit of a pain doing it by tube. Not sure how you'll get there yet. I believe that Will might be coming to meet up in the afternoon, and if we can persuade Claire (Divi) and Toby to come too, we'd have 3 cars. Might still be a few too many of you to fit though, so might have to make a couple of journeys, or something. I'm sure it'll all get sorted out. Maybe we can persuade DavidB and Lily to come along as well :D

It's pretty big, and there's also 2 rooms there to dance in. According to the London ceroc website, they haven't sold too many tickets yet, so it seems like there'll be lots of room to dance. They've been pushing it quite a lot this week though, so maybe they'll have sold more tickets now.

Not sure what time it'll go on until. I think midnight, but not totally sure. Of course, with 12 hours of dancing on the Saturday, you'll need to get some rest, even if you don't need any beauty sleep.

As to music. I imagine that it'll be the usual London ceroc type of music, so mostly modern. Erick did play a good set at Battersea last weekend, and I think he's probably DJing there, so some hope. He's usually pretty decent about playing requests if he's got them. Or just bring lots of CDs and swamp him :)

Does that all help? :na:

i just looked at the first page and I think it's 18 men to 12 women - which sounds not a bad ratio at all!!!!

(Wendy, you'd better check this incase I've sexchanged anyone!!)

Steve do the black cabs go that far out ???

My buddy and I are arriving in Stanstead about 3ish so don't expect to get across London much before 6ish I suppose so it all might be a bit of a rush there after.

Wendy, do you think there's quite a gang planing on going from

Cx Sounds like the wrong sort of ratio to me. And I usually only get dances because there's so many more women than men, and the women are desperate for someone to dance with. I'll just be sitting on my own all afternoon :tears:

No idea about the black cabs. But I'm sure they do. It's not really that far out. Only just past Hammersmith, and not even as far as Richmond or Ealing.

I didn't realise that you weren't coming down with the rest of them. I seem to remember that there's a big group arriving at Heathrow (which is much closer) around midday. Are you still staying at Peacehaven though? I reckon that you're right about it taking about 2-3 hours to get from Stanstead to Acton. Give me a bell when you're almost at Acton Town (I think that's the closest tube), and I might even come to pick you up (unless it's too much fun at Peacehaven!).

Look forward to meeting you (again)

yes staying at Peacehaven, I think we managed to get the shed as the last available room!! but we have really cheapo flights from Prestwick to Stanstead, to make up for this we bought lovely new trundly trolley dolley suitcases for bashing people with!! and almost forgot we have a man with us too!!!(sorry W!!! how could I??) so if our little leggies get tired he can carry everything haha.
