Visiting The Big Smokey

I'm going to be in London staying in the Harbour Exchange area for a week starting Sunday 6th. Any recommendations on (friendly) venues in the locality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You could try the Greenwich venue at Charlton. Only a 15 min car drive or easy by train too.

It's on Wednesday's and sunday's.

Thanks Jon. looks promising. With my GPS fired up I should be able to find my way there. And a dance on Sunday evening. Does life get any better.

Harbour Exchange is in the Docklands, very close to the London Arena. I'm assuming you will be relying on public transport...

I can't think of anything nearby. Charlton (http://www.cerocgreenwich.co.uk/) is probably the closest venue, but the only way I know of getting there is from London Bridge Station. (Jon has already given you the details.)

Otherwise you can try:
- JiveBar on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
- Fulham on Tuesday & Thursday
- Casbah on Friday
- St Mary's on Friday

The other popular venue is Hipsters (http://www.hipstersjive.co.uk/) (Ealing) on Tuesday & Wednesday. You can get there by tube, but it might be a bit too far out.
