View Full Version : I'm so pissed off!

I'm staying in Auckland before flying overseas and I don't really know anyone here and there where no classes tonight so I went down to the casino where they have a live band. The band was really good and I was having a good night. There was a ceroc couple there and they got up to dance. The music wasn't really suitable but they were giving it a go anyway. Then four women sat down at one of the tables and one of them kept looking over at them dancing and laughing and slagging them off to her friends....

This really annoyed me and I felt like going over and abusing her and asking why she didn't get up and dance if she thought she was so wonderful..... unfortunately I am too non-confrontational to do this. It just really put a sour note on a nice evening. I know its not a big deal but I had to rant about it to someone..... Thanks for listening (reading).

I imagine they were slgging the couple off because they were jealous. Rather than getting p****d off in future just remind yourself of this and be smug about it.

I imagine the couple never heard a word so they enjoyed themselves. The pair slagging them off deep down would love to be capable but have some sort of insecurity that manifests itself in having to tear others apart so they can feel better about themselves. People like this deserve nothing but pity. So don't let them bother you.

I had the same sort of thing at a wedding once (where I knew about three people) - I just asked the offending lady up for a dance and led her through a few basic moves. I had to spend some time initially convincing her, but the main barrier was faceing her & enterage.
I don't know if her perception changed, but we got a round of applause and cheers coming back off the floor and returning to the table. I got a few more dances that night with other people, but never saw if I scared her or hooked her.

On a similar note, have you ever seen some ladies on the dance floor (of a non-dance event), one obviously done some salsa/ceroc/swing/jive and leading another (just as obviously not interested) in some turns and spins. Anyone else get an overwhelming urge to go over and ask them for a dance, just to see how they move?
(or is it just me being sad :sorry)

Not at all - I've been that lady in the past & it would've brightened my evening to have you ask. :nice:

The night went downhill from there. I was staying in a really scummy hostel and after watching tv I went to get up and go to bed. When I walked thought the hallway I almost bumped into someone coming the other way and said excuse me, he responded by muttering F**k you under his breath as he walked away. I got back to my dorm and the other guy who was staying there was snoring like a chainsaw. I couldn't sleep so I went down to the internet terminals and met the girl from my dorm she told me he snored the previous night and kept her awake so she had to sleep all day..... I went back up and the snorer had stopped so I went to bed... The sleep all day girl had checked out so another girl checked in and came in and unpacked all her stuff at 3.00 am waking us all up......

If you should ever visit Auckland stay away from central city backpackers. It is two doors down from the main ceroc franchise but it is the last place you would ever want to stay.

p.s. I met the girl from the casino at class the next night and had a nice dance with her.

If ever you make it up to Bonnie Dundee on your travels it won't be the snoring that keeps you awake at night!! :grin:It will be Sheena, and the other members of the Dundee MAd Crew partying, that will keep you from that beauty sleep  but then if you're here in Dundee with the MAd crew, you won't want to sleep!!
