Just spotted this programme coming up on BBC2 on Friday 17th at 23:35.
Documentary recalling the social revolution which swept across Britain from 1946. A new dance craze, the Jitterbug, captured the mood of the country as years of war and austerity were cast off. The film uses archive footage and a soundtrack of classic hits, including music by Louis Jordan, Alma Cogan, Billie Holiday and Ray Charles. Set your videos (or whatever replaces them these days).

If you're in Scotland, you might want to know it's not on until 12.05am. :)

Not really – after all, I'm watching it right now, even before it's actually on... :)

Not a lot of dancing...

Oh no, not very often any dancing round these parts of a friday. Unless you count Maureen's Country and Western. I keep threatening to give it a go. Not tonight tho', coz it's the 'Over 30s Disco' tomorrow (oops, that's today now) and three of my lovely ladies expect me there ;-)

Some of the music was quite evocative though; to me, that is.

A social history programme, just like "The Rock'n'Roll Years".
They played some nice music from the era, but only had 3 or 4 very short clips of dancing, which they repeated several times. Interesting, but a disappointment.
