As it's Shrove Tuesday, I am planning on having a pancake tonight after dinner, like most people. Was just wondering what people like to have for their pancake fillings?

I like mine with bananas and maple syrup

Depending on my mood: lemon juice and caster sugar, or chopped nuts, Nutella and vanilla icecream, although yours sounds good too

Mmmm, can't wait to go home and make pancakes now!

There is a restaurant near me where they do 'Honey Bear Crepe' - (Ice cream with honeycomb). I must order it fairly often as was in once with friends and when it got to me the waitress just said 'the usual?'

My favourite is lemon and sugar... but have been known to toss a bit of cocoa or maybe coffee in the mix to try something new....

what I do know is that I will be mopping up pancake mix for the next few days... it seems to find its way into everything... before cooking it of course...

Ok, this might be a bit of a strange foreign thing, but.....: Blueberry jam and 'romme' (similar to creme fraiche or very thick sour cream).

Also like the good ol' lemon and sugar option, or to completely push the boat out, ice cream and chocolate (or fruity) sauce!

Apple and cinnamon. Or some kind of choco/banana combo!!

Has Mick come in with any tossing tips, yet?!?

There are a couple of restaurants in London, called "My Old Dutch" which specialise in pancakes, both savoury and sweet

They're quite good for Celeb sppotting too!

There's a 'My Old Dutch' round the corner from the office - walking distance from Covent Garden. Recommended :) - the salmon and dill sauce pancake is

But don't have the waffles for dessert, they are disgusting.

I once bought a crepe off a stall in Paris that had been soaked in Grand Marnier. It was gorgeous.

When I make them myself, I just smother them in Maple Syrup.

Tonight was a batter-fest

I cooked two spring rolls containing haddock, bean shoots, mushrooms and celery in a sweet and sour sauce (oven cooked rather than deep fried)

Then afterwards, 2 pancakes containing honey and 3 with lemon juice, brown sugar and cinnamon

Nutella, bananas and Nutella, bananas and ice cream (with maple syrup too),
Morello cherries and natural yoghurt...

And good old lemon and sugar.

Some friends came round last night and one brought some crepes she'd made- we had them with choc chip ice cream, strawberries and blueberries. And hot chocolate fudge.

Yesterday Vicky pollard (sorry i mean my daughter) invited her friends over for pancakes. I was really suprised that with all the fillings i offered including chocolate, fruit etc they only wanted lemon and sugar. And they only wanted 2:eek: So I just had to finish the batch off and stuffed my face with chocolate, icecream, bananas etc:drool:

At 8 oclock my boss invited us over for a little pancake party at hers. There were all sorts of fillings on offer, strawberrys (some soaked in alcohol), bananas, blueberries, coronation chicken, feta cheese and leaves, lemon, sugar, cinemon (cant spell it), honey, maple syrup and fresh cream:drool: I ate far too many and still feel stuffed today.

Right the gym starts tomorrow!

A place in St Albans called The Waffle House, opposite Verulamium park in St Michaels village. All they do is waffles :yuck:

Aunt Bessie made mine. My 14year old son made ours :na: but if you've ever wondered how they make those flat rubber bath sponges, I now know!

Luckily, they're very fattening and he knows i'm trying to be good! :innocent: :D

BTW, how can a bit of flour and an egg cause a kitchen to look like a bomb exploded :rolleyes:

Yes there is always a queue to get in. I hate waffles. Different strokes for different folks. Over priced and over rated IMHO.

Beautiful setting on a glorious summers day. You can even look in the river while your waiting.

Yeah, but that was the Ealing one - the waffles in the Holborn MOD were vile - dry, dusty and stale

I didn't have pancakes yesterday, so might make some over the weekend... pancakes for breakfast anyone?  we're grown ups, we can eat what we like

Usually one hour after stuffing my face with as many pancakes as possible, I go to feel hungry again. It's one of those things that are just heavy on your stomach at the time, but then digest very quickly. Bananas are the same!

I have never missed out on pancake day but I did last night so having some tonight instead. (well I hope so anyway!)
