WOW!!!! Thats some line-up.

I would personally do just about anything legal to see John Lindo dance - I've seen him on a couple of dvds and just love his style and humour.

Sadly, I don't think the pennies will stretch to Boston, but if anyone going has a big empty suitcase, I'd take my chances in the hold..... :nice:

I was lucky enough to get a dance with him a few years ago and yes :worthy: not only is he a fantastic lead, he is also lots of fun to dance with :worthy: :yeah: (the same sense of fun great lead as dancing with our very own King Franck`:flower: :worthy: )

Where's the option. I'm so interested! But how can i justify flying to Boston, for a weekender, to my husband! :tears:

Well, you could make it more than just a weekend; would that work??!!!! We are travelling across on Thur. the 23rd and not coming back till Tues. (arrive back on Wed. morning) the 28th so we have a bit of time to see Boston as well. Flights to Boston are reasonably cheap and I'm estimating a total cost (flight, event & comp. entry, hotel, food) at somewhere around £550. That's really only about 2 jive weekenders (when you add up all your costs) and trust me, the dancing, workshops, and spectating you'll do at this event will be worth 4 jive weekenders!!!!!

We currently have a group of 8 of us from Scotland going across. Have heard rumours of a few from down south possibly heading across.

Come on, you know you want to go!!!!!!!!!

*extremely ecstatic smilie* after some enthusiastic persuasion by two people who know who they are I've bitten the bullet and booked my flights

can't wait - wonder if I can persuade one of the teachers to adopt me so I can stay and get personal WCS tuition

When you ask if you can go to Boston try not to give off a New England vibe, think Lincolnshire :)

Wish you could come to Boston with us :D  :flower:

Wow! Sounds great. Just make sure you save a few days to explore Boston city as well. :) Really lovely city :)
Lot's to see and do and great market and even for us directionally challenged it is possible to find some of the great sights due to their nice and bright painted trail in the streets. Brilliant! Freedom Trail 2 1/2 mile path through downtown Boston that passes many of the historical landmarks - great buildings and just lovely.
Great big park "Public garden" in the middle of the city - might still be ice-skating here as pretty cold at this time of the year. I was promised average 13 degrees C in April and it snowed! Hat to buy hat and scarf etc...
Walk opposite the park up Beacon Hill - exclusive residental are - lovely European style houses - around some corners you'll find a small gallery or nice wee coffeshop and so nice to just explore and see what you find as no doubt this keeps changing.
Visit China Town for colurful sights and buzzing athmosphere and enjoy great lunch in one of the food-halls hidden in between shops.
Visit Prudential Tower for breathtaking views - huge shopping mall in town (found lot's of nice dancetops here...) - Enjoy late lunch and drinks at one of the two "Cheers" bars.. Nearly forgot the Italian area. Then there's Copley Square - another must see - concerts -foodpavillion - area for peoplewatching (!) I could go on and on. Got a slightly worrying first impression arriving on my own a random Friday night finding myself in a black taxi from the airport with bulletproof windows between me and driver and hand-gun visible - but not to worry - really friendly exciting fun place and did I mention it was a lovely place...
Dance until your heart is content, then get yourself out there and just enjoy the sights and life :flower:
Enjoy!

The Boston Tea Party was truly amazing..............

FOUR nights of dancing to 6am (if you have the energy) a day full of workshops, lots of 'privates' (one to one) with the greats and loads of daytime freestyling AND WCS and Lindy competitions running throughout the weekend - there was too much to do without missing stuff, unless you could do without sleep

As I said in my birthday thread - both our boys (Brady Rogers & Dave Hancock) did well in their "Dance with a Stranger" or as they call it "Jack & Jill" competition, they both got to the final :respect: :waycool:  :respect:

And what a way to spend your birthday !

Special thanks to Jenni :flower: my roomy - great lady, fab dancer and good listener :really:
