Has anyone got tickets and things for Storm yet? That is to say have you received the information not just a confirmation booking? Just wondering whether I should be worried yet.

Thanks :D.

I've not received anything yet either, but there is over a month to go yet, I wouldn't be getting worried just yet.

According to the confirmation E Mail I received "Ceroc Storm Pack will be forwarded to you via the post by mid February 2006 which will include your gender specific coloured wrist bands plus further details of the full weekend's entertainment and other information".

Thanks for that. They might have added that text later as I didn't get it. With the gender specific coloured wrist bands did it also state "Ve vill be inspecting yovr vrist bands very closely and yov must vare them at all times"?

I didn't see it in there, but I have seen it somewhere else, perhaps on the website.

So that people don't forget whether they are male or female ?
What about transvestites /cross dressers etc - won't the wrist band blow their cover?

Anybody know how many tickets have been sold for Storm? I know the official line, but many people have said privately that its been oversold.
Surely Ceroc aren't going to ruin their first weekender by being too greedy

I heard from a reliable insider (who I'm not going to name) that Ceroc are being really careful to get this right. They are also taking a long-term view and not expecting to make a profit out of the first 2 events.

Of course the Prince of Darkness could be mis-informing his own people. I wouldn't put it past him to have some hidden agenda* for World domination but I think they might actually get this one right:worthy:

*This agenda for world domination is not really very well hidden at all. But I don't think its going to be based on what happens at Camber on Sea**.

** In fact, now I think about it, I think Storm being based at Camber on Sea is all to do with the success of Franco's Camber event. After all, there's loads of other places a national (World Dominant???) organisation could have staged its first weekender that might have been more strategically important and certainly would have more comfortable beds than Camber***

*** Has anyone ever slept on a less comfortable bed?

That's fine until you get *really irritating* people like me who think that £58 is good value for a weekender and book two places

Someone does have first refusal on the 'spare' but may only be able to come for one night. So that'll be one guy over on Friday and Sunday then?

£29 for as many workshops as you want to do, 3 nights of freestyle, not having to worry about getting as many dances as you can cos you only got 3 hours.

Actually, I've got a strong suspicion that there'll be less people there than are "booked" - simply because, as LMC said, lots of people would have gone for the £58-for-two-people price, just for themselves.

Of course, that may promote a bit of frantic private-enterprise a few weeks / days beforehand. I suspect WittyBird the TicketTout may be working overtime around then...

I'd heard from a very reliable source (the company secretary) that it is COMPLETELY sold out, and 50/50 split.
Yeah, but because of the aforementioned loophole, there's no way of telling exactly how many people will be there, or what the ratio will be - all you can do is put an upper bound on the total numbers.

As for comfort:

Yes at Beach Boogie the beds were so unconfortable and seen better days.
They'd have to go quite some way downhill to match the tin hut accommodation at Bisley - I reckon a tent'd be better than those things.

Last time we went was 2 or 3 years ago we didnt really enjoy it. The thin walls, uncomfy bed, flies in the pool, washing machines on the beach and miles from any shops were the highlights for us:rofl: We did learn that the woman next door was regular as clockwork curling one out and the woman other side had a better sex life after her hysterectomy:eek:

As I don't have a dance partner, no risky workshops for me!

I can't much see the point of "more moves" either as a follower. But I'll be interested in any Beginner-Improver as a lead, style classes and I'll definitely go for workshops in other dance styles - WCS, tango, ballroom particularly (but not lindy)

Hmm, think that makes about four... not bad going
