View Full Version : Realistic New Years Resolutions

2 days into the New Year and i'm surprised that no-one has started a thread about this (if they have, then i'm just having a blonde moment - doh! )

I did find a thread for "MJ" New Years resolutions but i thought it would be interesting to see what other "serious / non-dance / realistic" resolutions you might have. I thought that if there are things you really would like to do but just have a problem sticking to, posting it here will serve as a constant reminder as well as giving others the opportunity to keep an eye on you and help/pester you where necessary .....

So - here are mine:-

1) I've been "decorating" my flat for years (an ongoing operation). I WILL have the whole place done before my birthday (June).

2) Get all my finances in order. I am terrible at this and being out of work has not helped so this has got to be a priority.

3) Sort out my clutter - I am a great one for hoarding things so i have got to get ruthless and start chucking stuff out!!

........ Happy New Year and Good Luck to You All

Don't know if falls into 'serious' category, not completely 'non-dance' and probably highly unlikely to be 'realistic' but...

...spend less time on the forum.

[SIZE="5"].

:yeah:

Not to lower the tone on the forum! (out in public is different).

To be more patient with people on the road and not to think i own it.

To get fit and attend the gym more.

Thats all i can think of for now.

Mine are to:

1) Persuade boss that I am worthy of a payrise
2) After raise has been given (big assumption here) sell more of my soul to the bank in return for a bigger mortgage so that I can move

Nope - good idea, rep on its way.

A couple of mine:
- Sort out my music (i.e. get it digital, work out how these MP3 players, well, work, etc.)
- Stop biting nails, it's a yukky habit

I had a number of new years resolutions

However according to my stars in the Daily Mail today I should abandon them

Im to think of myself as a Jazz soloist not a classical composer

Resolve to be spontaneous and sensitive to the mood of the moment. When you've got a postive cosmic climate working in your favour, you dont need a strategy. You just need a little hope, inspiration and ingenuity. The more you make things up as you go along, the more fun you will have - and the more postive progress you'll make to.

If its in the stars and from the Daily Mail whats one to do ?

:yeah: Heres mine for the year ahead:rofl:

Scorpio, October 24th to November 22nd

Love.
Jupiter is in your sign until after your next birthday. Under its light
you'll enjoy greater luck than you have in 13 yeas. By mid-February, you
get your first taste of what your relationship could be like without
arguments or jealousy. There are many sizzling dates including March 1
and 4. March 9 is the best love date in the year - but only if you don't
count June 30, the first three weeks of July and August 13. It'll be a
wonder if you have time for anything else!

Money.
Saturn combined with Jupiter's lucky influence should take you to the
top of your chosen profession or win you the accolades you've so richly
deserved this year. With success, money is usually close behind. But you
must to where you are going on your own merits, with your integrity
intact and without annihilating the competition (although thrashing them
fairly and soundly is fine). March is for good fortune. April for hard
work the leads to more luck. And June is for cashing in. By next
Christmas you should be a great deal richer, more famous or more highly
regarded. Very possibly all three

New Year's Resolutions, eh? Mine are:

1. Become a tidier person - both in my mind and in my personal space
2. Work out the right balance between my study, my dancing and my personal life, and stick to it
3. Sort out my sleep problems by applying some willpower and discipline this time
And of course
Gonna read more books, gonna keep up with the news
Gonna learn how to cook, and spend less money on shoesOk, well maybe not that last one:innocent:
