Has anyone seen a copy yet??? It was meant to be ready by the end of October, but I have not heard anything about it's release/postponement. I emailed Sara at Brit Rock, but again, nothing heard.

Thanks in advance for any information!

I've been wondering about this as well. I understood that it was meant to be ready by mid-November.

Although I am quite happy NOT to see it.

Wasn't there a thread about the non-delivery of Blackpool videos, with everyone blaming everyone else??

Where's MH when you need him?

Yes there was........and the Ce Roc video...... The only one that has been issued on time was the one from Weston-Super-Mare. (Oh and the one that a lovely Lady in Scotland decided to do as a favour to some friends! :worthy: :worthy: )

Is it any wonder that people aren't keen to order them in advance!

Well, I was a little later than planned with the CD of the classes from the BFG, but still managed to get them out within a few weeks. I'm blaming assignments that had to be handed in for university for the small delay, but apologising for it still.

Sound and video quality also wasn't quite as good as I'd have liked, but given that I only thought about doing it 2 days before the event, and ended up filming most of it in dim light in a corridor, with building works going on in the background, I don't think that it's a bad effort for £5!

Am thinking (It was a hell of a lot of effort for very little financial gain) about doing it again in May for this years BFG. Will plan it a little better this time though. At the very least, we'll have a room dedicated for it, with a backdrop, and lighting, which will improve the picture and sound quality a lot - and hopefully make it a little easier to film. Also planning on it being a DVD, rather than just a CD too :flower:

Going back to the Blackpool DVD. I have had my cheque back, but Sue did double check with me if I still wanted a refund some time ago as whoever was taking over cutting the video was soon to have it ready. I imagine it must be ready by now, although Sue was in USA when I emailed her, but she is back now so worth chasing up if you still want one.

It would appear that Steve Strong and Harveys are both able to deliver a reasonable product in good time - although I'm not sure if it wasn't Steve who did Britrock!

Hi
Glenn made the DVD for Britrock (he works with Steve Strong on all his filming).
I have Emailed Sarah about this and her reply is below

"I have spoken to Glenn and after the two week set back with a computer virus he posted the DVD's all out together on 12th december in a GPO sack like you are supposed to do only the whole sack has gone missing and not one DVD got delivered. He will be redoing them this weekend and posting them out this coming week with a S.A.E incase the other ones do turn up and the customers end up with 2 they can post them back."

So you should get them soon

What a shame you didn't post this on the 28th or before - all the Rock Bots crew were at the Glitter Ball, I could have asked them.

Is this Sara as in Alan Pratt's Sara ? If so she is nearly nine months pregnant :really: so she might have other things on her mind - BTW she was there last night too, so was Tor (with her bump)

Babies babies babies .............. it's all happening at the moment there must have been something in the water last year

Wouldn't it be Sarah as in Sarah Johnson who ran Brit Rock maybe?

Hiya Elaine,

Not looking good on this DVD is it?

Apparently Rockbottoms had this one passed out to a 3rd party to do. I have been on dance weekends with Rockbottoms before and the DVDs have always turn't up when they did it - so this isn't indicative of Rockbottms themselves.

Hev from rock bottoms has been chasing the dvds up. She also gave me the mobile number of the guy doing the DVDs. I chased him up as well. (All this was from 2 weeks before xmas - I was kinda hoping to show my folks and friends the DVD xmas day) - left voice mails - and have never had a reply from him.

A group txt or email to people apologising about the delay, and an update of an ETA for the DVD would have been appreciated - and accepted in goodwill by all I reckon...

We've had our DVD for a while now but the 2nd disc (the one we're most interested in) does not play fully. We can play a bit of it, but not all of it and it won't let us use the menu.

We have left a couple of messages now with no reply. Has anyone else had any problems or is there anyone who could let us borrow the 2nd disc to see.

Bit of a poor show I think.

I have found this often results in a copy that works correctly. As I said somewhere else, nearly every dance DVD I've bought in this country has required this treatment in order to get glitch-free playback.

I really do not trust DVD as an archive format!

Yep. Tried that - gives me the same problems.

Yep. Tried that - gives me the same problems.Hmm... If it copies OK but doesn't play, that implies the actual DVD structure hasn't been set up properly. You might be able to extract the raw video data using something like DVD decrypter. But that's kind of clutching at straws.
