I thought (and I am fully aware I'm about to get roasted alive for saying this) that Jill Halfpenny had an unfair advantage going into SCD last year- to get offered the role in Chicago, she would have to be able to sing, and what drama school teaches singing and NOT dance to go with it? I wanted Denise Lewis to win, purely because she was dancing just as well, but had come from a very different discipline and thus had a much steeper learning curve. </mode>

Like I said, you want people who don't dance- who don't see themselves as able to dance, who come from other disciplines. I always enjoy watching those kind of people's pleasure and delight at discovering a hitherto unrealised talent.
