Who are the 12 celebs you would most like to see on Strictly Come Dancing? Who are your dream dozen? Just remember guys, cartoon characters are NOT real people (with the exception of Minnie M).

I'm sure it's bad form to answer your own post, but here are my choices

1. Angelina Jolie
2. Damian Lewis
3. Susanna (of Trinny & Susanna)
4. Neil Pearson
5. William Gaminara (actor in Silent Witness, Spooks & Attachments)
6. Eddie Izzard
7. Christopher Ecclestone
8. Anne Robinson
9. Matt James (City Gardener)
10. Pierce Brosnan
11. Willard White (opera singer)
12. Anthony Gormley (artist)

Number 1 is there to make sure that some of the boys watch, 3 and 8 are for amusement value, 12 is because I think he'd be interesting and the others are there for

Thanks FP for recognising I am a REAL PERSON

I was going to nominate my Micky, but I think that might be pushing it a bit

I would like to pick not only my dream team, but the most entertaining too - so it will take a little thought - so far can only think of Will Smith and Dawn French (be back later with the rest)

Can't believe i forgot to put Matt Le Blanc. Thinking about it, i don't think i would want other ladies in it. I would like to take turns and dance with them all myself. Probably kill me off, but what a way to go!!

With you as far as Johnny Depp goes and probably Clive Owen and Keanu Reeves, but not as keen on some of the others (Shane Richie? )

This will take a lot of thinking about - and an imagination which I haven't got!

I'll have to come back later.

1) Bill Bailey
2) Rustie Lee
3) Floella Benjamin
4) Brian Cant (yes, I AM aware there's a slight theme on the last three)
5) Alan Rickman
6) I second the nomination for Peter Kay
7) Kelly Holmes
8) Judi Dench
9) Fern Britton
10) Trevor McDonald
11) Caroline Quentin
12) Tamsin Greig

<mode=ranty>But really the main criterion for me is that they've not had any involvement in or training for musical theatre. I thought (and I am fully aware I'm about to get roasted alive for saying this) that Jill Halfpenny had an unfair advantage going into SCD last year- to get offered the role in Chicago, she would have to be able to sing, and what drama school teaches singing and NOT dance to go with it? I wanted Denise Lewis to win, purely because she was dancing just as well, but had come from a very different discipline and thus had a much steeper learning curve. </mode>

Shane Richie in his younger, slimmer days. It's the cheeky boy grin and the twinkle in his eyes and i like a guy that's funny!

Kevin Bacon

But Kevin Bacon would have an unfair advantage what with 'Footloose!'.

I'd rather see 12 people starting on exactly the same amount of experience (i.e. as little as possible), and watch them improve as the series went on, thus discovering something they never knew about themselves, ie, that they can dance.

You obviously have not seen Michael Buble live on stage, he has natural talent, and boy can he move.

Then I'd probably be pedantic and take issue with him as well.

Like I said, you want people who don't dance- who don't see themselves as able to dance, who come from other disciplines. I always enjoy watching those kind of people's pleasure and delight at discovering a hitherto unrealised talent.

Emma Chambers (Alice in Vicar of Dibley - do you think she's like that in real life?)
Paula Radcliffe
Jonathan Edwards
Sandra Bullock
Richard Madley
Judy Finnegan

Johnny Depp
Sharon Osbourne

Yes you're right and that was one of the good things about the series, but i'm being completely selfish as i want to be the one to dance with all of the guys on my list.

Yes, they're listed on the other thread, or on the BBC website. Although I don't know who some of them are, probably soap stars, I might recognise them when I see them.
