Ill stand corrected but when Nigel and Nina taught the shag there were lots or waving the arms in the air and the occassional need for a partner in the more difficult bits ?

There's an Aberdeen party on Saturday that weekend isn't there? If it's anything like the Glasgow party that was on during the last Southport, there may be a shortage of quality dancers. :really:

Scratch that – they may be a shortage of dancers – end of.

I'm planning on going to the movies this weekend coming. Anything good on? :nice:

By the way I'm deeply disappointed you consider this too far to travel for a dance. Mind you if you did we'd have to take turns in the shed because it's quite small.

Anyway, I can't find any evidence of any local LeRoc activity near-by me this weekend, so...

Ducasi.

Click on the link posted by Minnie. If you look at the September events, there is a dance on at Pollockshaws Burgh Hall. From your bio it looks like that might be near you.

I've never been to one of these, but as Route 66 is not on this weekend I may be tempted to. If anyone had any info on the venue etc, I would be most grateful.

No, I don't think that would have helped. They should have updated the page with the out-of-date info.

Either way, no matter. I don't think I'll be going. It's been a tiring week and I need a rest.

Thanks for the link anyway, between the three of us, anyone who is interested in going should now have all the necessary info. :flower:

Think it might be http://web.onetel.net.uk/~jessnewton/BigLatin_nite.htm
(found it via http://www.wcities.com/en/record/274,277299/41/record.html)

I'm sure I had an email from Jess Newton about it -- sadly not accessible at the moment.

Yes that's right ( the first url ). They advertise www.bristoldance.biz as the website on the flyer (picked up from the door at Tango West), but I've had difficulty navigating it.

Apart from whatever they have free outside, if you cannot see from the web site ( I cannot ) there are workshops from 11:00 to 13:15 and 13:15 to 17:30 at Fiesta Havana, the Toad, and above Walkabout. Salon and a Childdown from 17:30 - 19:00

Workshops are

Merenge / Bachata
Lambada Beg
Tbc
Flamenco

12.15
Salsa beg/imp
Styling and Attitude (int/adv)

14.00
Salsa Hip-Hop (int/adv)
Samba (all)
Cha Cha (int)
Latin Jazz (all)

15.15
Lambada (int)
Salsa on 1 (int)

Hip Hop(all)

16.30

Capoiera (all)

The "Big Latin night out is from 9:00 pm" at the Students Union.

The flyer says subject to change - check on the web site for updates which is really helpful.

Prices were £15 on the door for the night event if avail.
£ 5 individual workshops and £ 10.00 Tango Salon

Info Tel Number is given as 0117 966 6443

Given the state of the web site, I wouldn't travel far without some sort of confirmation.
