Anyone know of a good source of plums or greengages in SE England?
Really looking for one of those pick-your-own farmer's door-step kind of operations.

The "Plums" title got me looking :rofl: will ask my sister as she often likes to go down on da farm and pick her own fruit and veg, like she says, "nothing like a good ripe plum" ooh baby :rofl: :drool:

On a serious note, Long One, i do have 4 apple trees with lots of nice apples :drool: growing in my garden, can never really find any use for them except cook pies :whistle:

If you ever passing this way Clive, call in and I will take you to my local P-Y-O farm and maybe we can have a nice, healthy organic lunch..(I did say organic) before a sit in the garden or a play in either of the 2 parks! Then we could saunter out and pick whatever is in season....FABULOUS!! :clap:

Mmmm .. they are delicious.
We went blackberry picking today - on the public path alongside the Nothern Line. Poor crop because it has been too dry this year but nice flavour.
We picked some sloes also. I learned that when you have drunk your sloe gin just fill the bottle up with dry cider. Couple of days later - fabulous.
I'm going to wash and freeze the plums tonight. It'll be fine for jam making. I need to get the pectin and rustle up some jam jars - I might have some in the garage. Thank goodness for the overnight wash in the dishwasher before the sterilising.
I'll make a plum and something crumble tomorrow night though. Do you want one too while I'm at it? Comfort food.
