THanks Andreas but yeah Robin is right it takes us about 3 hours to drive there and MAndys parents have a place half an hour from the slopes. Also the ski instructor is a cerocer and can organise passes

I will be thinking of you guys all the time though

Hopefully we will get a week of skiing in, the weather is just perfect at the mo.

Shoulda gone to Spec- er, Finchley :)

Casbah's nice, but remember it finishes at 11pm, so you don't get as much freestyle time.

Not Hammersmith, if you value your soul. Not that I'm biased or anything. Woking sounds nice, although a long way to drive from Up North.

Starts at 7.30 pm though and I work in town, so same difference as 8 - 11.30 for me.

I sold my soul to pay for all the petrol I'm using going to different venues... think I'm going to have to do central London a bit more, paid 3 grand for the dam season ticket, might as well get me money's worth...

Woking was great last month (despite air con breakdown  ) but Hammersmith is that much closer... nope, it's no good, this fence is just toooooo comfortable right now.

Fair enough - plus, more eateries around Kensington than up in the wilds of the Chilterns after all.

I shall manfully ignore the denigration of my looks, dancing ability and general niceness. Because I'm nice.

If you come along to Route66 on Friday you will not be dissapointed.

There are two DJ's sharing the five hours in half hour slots each. They both play different styles of music and usually manage to meet all tastes. :worthy:

There is a bit of west coast swing, latin, stuff from the seventies, some modern, some older etc and Dance Demon even puts in some blues for the last half hour. I hope you enjoy it.

Do you know if they have an age requirement at Route 66? If Funky Mado is who I think she is she might not be old enough to get in. I'd just worry about her travelling all that way to be refused entry.

The venue has a bar so I think the minimum age would be 18. PM Dance Demon he will advise.

[shameless plug]On the 10th September we have a fabulous night inspired by Trinny and Suzanna. We've bought a huge red carpet and hired a stretch limo to do a quick tour of the town and then deliver people from the car park to the red carpet at the front of our venue: The Shoreham Centre, Pond Road. We will even have Paperazzi to snap you as you walk down the carpet. Then we've got a Hog Roast for those that'd like to eat - just £6 extra. Doors open at 7pm. PM me if you'd like to put your name down for a meal.[/shameless plug]

You know, if I've got any energy left after this week, and if I can find a lift, I may just come along to see what all the fuss is. I've since been reminded by my friends whose lives don't revolve around dancing (I know.. totally mad!) that I'd promised to go out with them on Friday, and as I've been dancing almost every day since last Thursday (every day if you count after midnight Sunday morning) I reckon I'll be in need of a wee rest day.

I am going tonight to Rutherglen to experience...

- A new concept is being introduced in Glasgow's Thursday class at the Rutherglen Town Hall. Starting tonight (8th September), we will be running a Style / technique and body movement class parallel to the Beginners class every Thursday. Nicola will be taking the classes. There are no extra charges for this class, all you need to do is arrive on time (around 7.30pm) on a Thursday to take part. You can then join in the Intermediate class and Freestyle as normal. ... maybe see some of you there! :waycool:

Sorry we (Icey and I) missed you at Hammersmith Danielle

Fewer people than expected, there seemed to be plenty of room. Bit hit and miss for me... some fantastic dances, but the music wasn't anything to write home about...

Amersham was good - very hot, but teas and cakes were served, and the music was excellent.

Not very busy though - but that meant I could do my patented "run all round the room" dance routine, so that was even more fun. Oh, and School Uniforms :)

I still think the weekly Chesham Fridays are generally better, however.

So, how far was Woking again?

Too right about dancing close the Lory! Never again!

Friday night was one of the BEST I have been to at Chesham in a long time (they're generally good but this one was brill) and to think that I nearly didn't go. I have to thank my Dad for telling me to stop bleating about having no money and just go out and be done with it (He did give me a fiver so that I could go :D ).

Music was fabulous, I hardly sat out a track and when I did it was only to change shirts or to grab a drink. I hope this friday is as good.

Good crowd (group up from the Dublin Lindy crowd too), lots of very MJ-able music so did mostly that as we aren't really far enough on to freestyle Lindy much. Lovely to actually have a proper evening of dancing here in Belfast!!
