I'd rather be simple than single. :)

Unfortunately, it's being not single that's not simple.

I think!

Maybe I'd rather be single if that's simpler. :)

Hmm...

Now I've confused myself...

Anyway, from 'the outside', I can report that life continues, non-virtual things happen, and eyes hurt less.

Do we need to start a therapy group here? I'm having a little fix today then I'm going out again after lunch. Don't have the discipline for moderation, I'm weak...

Anybody know the origins of the expression 'cold turkey'?

I don't believe you. It is a dark and cold place this "outside" you speak of.

Anybody know the origins of the expression 'cold turkey'?

Yeah; they called it that because they used to believe eating a cold turkey would relieve obsession. Just kidding; I don't really know...

Wikipedia suggests

"The term allegedly derives from the comparison of a cold turkey carcass and the state of a withdrawing addict -- most notably, the cold sweats and gooseflesh. It is often preceded by the word 'going', as 'going cold turkey'."

Well the Singletons' Sofa just really seems to be about random witter to me. Sometimes we have on topic discussions but most of the time it is just us being silly. Whether we should branch that to another thread I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the sofa has become the established place to do that. It sort of feels like I get to virtually hang out with friends a bit.
