Hi everyone, my first time on the forum but not the first time at the Mussleburgh competition. Is there anyone else like me who would prefer slightly slower music at competitions. Even the more acrobatic dancers at times appear to be doing moves for effect rather than actually to the rythmic pulse of the music. One of the things (and only one of the things) that makes a good dancer great is self style. I often feel this is lost because the music is too fast to interpret.

Did notice last year that some music in the open was a tad on the quick side   .

Have mixed feelings on this. Sometimes when competing I've had utter pants music...IMO, but is it pants because it is character less and has no soul or is it because I struggle to make anything of it...in turn becoming more challenging?

Oooooo the dilemma.
