View Full Version : The Inevitable Movie Quotes Game

Purple Sparkler
15th-August-2005, 04:53 PM
I reckon it's about time we had a movie quotes game, as there doesn't appear to have been one for a while (if ever).

Anyone who's been on a forum before is bound to know how it works: one person puts up a quote from a film, and the first person to guess/state correctly what film it's from gets to put up another quote from another film and so on until we run out of films.

IMDBing/Googling is only permitted when it's been ages and nobody's guessed correctly.

I shall start:

"Men, you are about to embark on a great crusade to stamp-out runaway decency in the west. Now, you will only be risking your lives, whilst I will be risking an almost certain Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor."

TiggsTours

Now, that would be Blazing Sadles, I do believe.

Next one then:

"Men are rats. Listen to me, they're fleas on rats. Worse than that, they're amoebas on fleas on rats, they are too low for even the dogs to bite, the only man a girl can depend on is her daddy"

I know this one, but I'm not going to say. I'll let someone else have a go.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, obviously.

Damn, you got there before me! Such a good film.

Though one of my favourite quotes from it is "It's on European Socialism. I mean really, what's the point? I'm not European, I don't plan on being European, so what do I care if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists for all I care, it wouldn't change the fact that I don't have a car."

I'm the Referee on this game, and it has to be a film quote. You can't demand someone know the TV series. I will, however, give extra bonus points (and a cookie) if someone does know it.

The film, by the way, is 'Terminator'.

Not even close to closeness - good grief, do I have to do everything around here? "When She Was Bad". S2, Ep1.

Go back, watch Season 2 from the start, and get it right next time. Not knowing Buffy is a criminal offence, I'm sure Blair mentioned it in the 12 points or something...
