I love that one, it's on the Muller advert - isn't it Nina Simone?

I had a horrible one yesterday - the boys at work had ordered pizza in from pizza hut and one of them started singing "Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut" or whatever that god-awful tune is and I've had it reverberating round my head ever since.

PS Sorry for passing that on...

It sounds like you're talking about 'Feeling Good' by, yup, Nina Simone.

I do love that song. The last really evil one I had was 'Baby Elephant Walk' by Henry Mancini. I was stuck with it going round and round my head in the middle of a meeting I was supposed to be minuting. Not fun.

The girl from Ipanema always gets stuck in my head.. I find myself involuntarily humming this tune when I get into an elevator.

It's the Indianna Jones Theme tune for me - for some reason it always seemed to get stuck in my head druring art classes at school, and now it seems to be when I'm driving or doing the housework.

Its a bit like the last track of a freestyle, maybe why I dont play things like "Amirillo" (God forbid), but a good reason why I play "That's all folks" . It sort of cleans the brain :D especially if its nice and LOUD

Is all I want to do.... But that's a lovely song. :nice: So much better for that to be going through your head than, e.g., that Amarillo song.

One that stuck in my head recently was "Tiger Feet" by Mudd?? or was it Sweet???

"That's neat! That's neat! That's neat! That's neat!
I really love your tiger feet!"

This usually strikes me as I'm putting on my tiger shoes to dance...

I get that one regularly at work when a colleague of mine unwittingly says on the phone, 'that's right that's right that's right that's right....'

She does it quite often, don't think I've done the 'that's neat' line loud enough to distract from her phone calls yet

for me its probably the last track before I turn off the car radio that does it for me. It seems to get stuck there till the next time. Same here, or wherever I am - eg a song playing in a shop. Amarillo does tend to get lodged there very easily! But because its often the last song I have heard, its easy to dislodge by listening to something else.

The funniest was probably when I first started driving on my own (ie just after my driving test, which took me years to get round to doing!) - driving to a fancy dress party at night, I had been at someone's house and 'Silver Bells' had been playing on a Christmas compilation (not mine) and I sang it over and over most of the 25 min journey - aloud - to keep myself calm! (It worked too!). The return journey was better as by then I knew I could do it so had the radio on.

I found myself walking around Asda the other day whistling their jingle

Now that some has mentioned Capercaillie in the Scottish bands thread I know I'm going to have 'Four stone walls' in my head the rest of the day. (Which is OK). I did wonder though, why that particular song.

Which makes me wonder about certain types of music that 'stick' more than others? I'm sure there are, and that advertisers have spent millions researching this for jingles etc. I'm sure it also varies across the population distribution. But I wondered if as a group who like dancing, does that influence which type of music that 'sticks'? Or if the type of music that sticks says something about you?
