According to the May edition of Focus Magazine . . . .

"40,000+ parasites and 250 types of bacteria are exchanged during a typical French kiss, say scientists. Couples exchange 0.7 grams of protein, 0.45 grams of fat and 0.19 grams of other organics substances by locking lips."

Wow and thats a TYPICAL kiss I wonder what you get when it's a really Naff one?

See? PROTEIN. Kissing is nutritionally sound! And I for one don't get nearly enough protein.

Not joining the queue just waiting for one to form for me! (What was that whizzing past the window? Oh, right. Just the usual squadron of RAF pigs...)

I wonder how they did the reserch?

Not sure, but I for one volunteer to help out next time they want to check the findings!

I couldn't be a vegetarian even if I wanted to. One sniff of my Mum's roast lamb and I'd cave.

Apparently now (according t' radio4) Saliva is the biggest thing ever!

As it comes from the blood through some glands in the mouth it has everything bar red blood cells that blood has - so some bright spark has started using spit instead of blood to look for oral cancers. Sounded well cool!

But as the program went on one of the researchers brought up the old thing of sucking a cut finger or 'licking your wounds'.

It turns out that saliva contains enzymes and stuff that inhibit bacterial growth and are therefore GOOD to apply to an open wound. Sadly I cannot remember the full name only the nmemonic they used for these enzymes etc and that was SLIPI.
Which I thought was brill

So . . . . . . . . any one want anything licking?
