Arm Jive Swizzle,
Cattapult,
Ceroc Spin,
Comb,
First Move,
In and Out,
Man Spin,
Shoulder Drop,
Yo-Yo
I'm sure I've missed a couple

(Is the 'side to side' still a beginner move?)

Hope that helps :)

There's a list of beginner's moves in the table at:
http://www.afterfive.co.uk/guide/latest/html/moves.html

And you can see how they vary over time :)

Yes it is really spelt like that - don't ask me why, I don't know :what:

There's an orange Ceroc booklet you normally see as you're paying in. It's got a list of what I presume to be the official list of 19 beginners' moves.

Let's see how many I can remember...

First move
First move push spin
yo-yo
yo-yo push spin
arm-jive push spin
arm-jive swizzle
octopus
basket
side-to-side shoulders
side-to-side shoulders (let go)
in and out
man spin
step across
shoulder slide
back pass
shoulder drop
ceroc spin
catapult
comb
slow comb

Hope that's right...

Hmm... That's 20! I've been taught all of these at beginners' class, plus the hatchback once, but I know it's not on the list in the booklet.

I know there are people out there with the booklet. I've got one in the house...

yo-yo push spin.
I'll trade you this one for the armjive  :D

sorry, you spelt Slo Comb wrong. :) That's not all, apparently I should have said "pushpin", not "push spin"!

yo-yo push spinI'll trade you this one for the armjive  :D So I see... A shame, as I much prefer the push-spin variation to a plain yo-yo. :nice:

Also, "side to side shoulders (let go)" shouldn't be on my list (which brings the number to 19, like I said.) I'm not so surprised at this one as I seem to have got totally confused in my lead of the variations of this move, and I can't be the only one. :tears:

sorry, you spelt Slo Comb wrong. :)Could someone explain the point of calling a move the 'slo comb'? As opposed to slow comb, that is. Reminds me of a certain Mrs Slocombe from Are You Being Served? (is that right?)......don't think she would be up for a 'slo comb' though :D

I see no mention of either a "Lady Spin", or and "American Spin" mentioned - or are they called something else in the Ceroc world

I was also taught as a beginner, that the octopus is a collection of two other basic moves - the "Girl Breakthrough", and the "Man Breakthrough".

Ceroc teaches the "Ceroc Spin" (a two-handed American spin) to beginners instead. The one-handed versions are intermediate level in Ceroc.

A Google for Cerocâ„¢ Beginners Moves came up with this page:

http://www.cerockidderminster.co.uk/ceroc_beginners_moves.tpl

It contains a handy description of each. Bless the lovely Debbie. :)
