Elsewhere I put down one of my three favourite films of all time was Heimat.

For those who are interested, they are re-showing on BBC4 starting tonight at 9pm. (I have just discovered this after having inadvertently slept past the time at which I planned to go dancing.)

Now the bad news.

It's 22 hours long (no, really) so they're showing it in 11 2-hour episodes, and guess what? On a Friday night as well. So not many Forumites will catch it.

But for those who do, it is to film what Wagner is to musical theatre.

Thanks for the information!

But do you really think we're going to see any of it?

How many dances could you have in 22 hours?

There's the latest installment, Heimat 3, on release at the moment, which is only a mere 11 hours 22 minutes long. Sadly there is only one place I know that is showing it, and that is in London.
