View Full Version : For the Ladies - Scientific Screen Man Shivers Thread

Ladies,

the sight of two men on the small screen this week have sent actual lust shivers down my spine so here is a thread where I confess this and ask who does the same for you....I suppose there is a very small point to it...I am curious to see if anyone else truly has a (physical?) favourite "type" as I believe I do.

The two that shook me up (see what I'm doing here??) were young Elvis in a new documentary last week and Robert Downey in series 4 of Ally McBeal.

I have known for a long time that my type is dark (or dark going grey) in a kind of Jewish looking way, with naughty eyes like he would put you over his knee at the slightest opportunity and the icing on the cake is ability at a piano...Am also strangely drawn to David Baddiel....so I feel I have a "type"...

Your turn
(honestly interested, this is science)
C

When i was younger used to think my TYPE was blonde hair blue eyes. But married my husband who has brown hair blue eyes (but now more grey than brown unfortunately). The more i think about it though, i don't think i have a type. I find different things about different men a turn on. I used to love Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves but also like Brad Pitt and Ben Fogle. All completely different!! But all yummy! :yum:  Unfortunately can't say i've ever seen anyone at a dance venue that did it for me. Maybe i'm just hard to please!!

That IS just a tad picky. But I find I don't want to think of anyone in those terms when I go dancing, causes too much trouble.

I feel strangely drawn to Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. :really:
Me Jane, him Tarzan with a posh accent? I think it's the way he rips animals to pieces with his bare hands and devours them that does it for me - despite being a vegetarian!

I think I have a subconscious type. I never noticed any similarities in the girls that I dated, some were tall, some short, some skinny, some fat - until many years later I realised that they all had broad shoulders and backs. Now when I see a fabulous-looking woman although I consciously see that she's caught my eye because of her face, or her legs, or whatever - invariably she has a broad-shouldered physique too.

I'm definitely attracted to a certain type but I don't think it's got much to do with their physicality. Looks to me are a fleeting consideration. For me, its all to do with charisma.

When I'm out with my dad, he always says, it doesn't matter how many men there are at the table in the restaurant, the waiter always brings 'him' the bill!

And I suppose that's the kind of guy I'm attracted to! The one with the self assured, understated 'presence' :waycool:

Wit, intelligence, enthusiasm, assertiveness, power and charm! :yum:

The least attractive quality that I can think of in a guy is negativity.

If we're going with SCREEN men, I'd have to say my current lust shivers are caused by:

David Tennant
Christopher Eccleston (but only in Dr Who...leather trenchcoat... )
Alan Cumming (yes even though he's gay)
Matthieu Kassovitz
Frederic Diefenthal (French actors. Both yummy).

And I'd quite like to corrupt Dick, Dom and Steven Mulherne.

EDIT:
Forgot to add Lory's criteria for attractiveness are right on the money!

I guess your right, at a dance venue i'm only interested in the dancing. So the man that is attractive is the one making me feel special for those 3/4 minutes. Once the dance is over then i'm afraid i'm on to the next guy. Ooh makes me sound so cheap. :innocent:

I'm afraid that for me there is the odd chap who's attractive WHETHER OR NOT we're dancing together... *sigh* Shame I'm the world's worst at striking up a conversation when not on the dancefloor, isn't it?

Why would you be attracted to the 'ODD' bloke. They're usually the ones to avoid!!

I should have seen that one coming a MILE off. No, the 'ODD' blokes are the ones who are usually attracted to me. I seem to be a magnet for wankers.

If i were a fella Cruella. . . .

My type has become so random two years post-divorce that I'm left with no idea at all, except to say that if a guy makes me keep on smiling after I've walked away from them or put the phone down to them then I'm getting near hooked (for that week anyway).

These guys know what they're doing coming dancing though. It has to be said a man with a talent is a real turn on! Although I normally would make it a rule not to date a guy that dances at my venue (seems all too complicated to me)

PS - Chicklet - my ex is a lovely jewish guy with piercing green eyes. He's currently single. I could have a word :nice:

Maybe we both have nice, attractive people attracted to us but just can't see it? I'm trying to think positive here...

Just to let you know the aahhhhhh feeling you talk about changes as you get older - my first love was James Dean  boy did he make me melt  I cried for weeks when he died

Fair enough. I'll have a go at distracting Holly Willoughby, just to help you out, of course...
