To ensure we get even numbers, there will be Boy & Girl tickets available. Just to be silly and contentious, how does that ensure you get even numbers? You might only sell half the boy tickets but all the girl tickets!
Tickets ... will only be available for purchase at the Greenwich Venue on Tuesday evenings - get your ticket early quick to avoid disappointmentSo anyone who can't get down to Greenwich on a Tuesday evening is unable to get a ticket? I guess everyone who likes ISH, Nosequins, Hipsters, Whetstone or any other popular Tuesday night venue is going to have to give this one a miss then.

What *is* the point of advertising on the Forum if most people aren't able to buy a ticket?

Tickets will be available to those that ask for them..email or PM and we can sort something out

As many people have done already....

In an ideal world we would like everyone to come to Greenwich to pick them up, but unfortuntely this is the real world and we know many people wantng to come to the party live a long way from greenwich

They are also available from Russ who is teachnig at Clapham on Mondays..

So... ESG if you want to come, you know how to get tickets, if not miss out :D

Just to be silly and contentious,

Yep, silly and contentious, but hey that is wot we come to expect from you so don't let us down

More girls than boys..... Isn't that the risk you take with any Party Night.

At least this way if the girl tickets are all sold out we can make the decision to advertise men only tickets available on the door... Makes you wonder why people bother trying to improve their nights.. good job our regular ladies appreciate it, sure beats sitting out half the night because there are fewer men.

Makes you wonder why people bother trying to improve their nights. If I thought for one instant that you'd be swayed by a little cynicism from me, then I'd keep my gob shut, but I know better than that. More power to your elbow, and every success with the 21st.

Yes, it's a hard life for us boys... :)

What, now you're selling soft porn?!?! Greenwich sure is a den of vice, perhaps I should stroll along :)

OK, ignoring the silly and contentious stuff for a moment, I'm not sure about the whole "number-balancing" thing, does it generally work? I do appreciate that this is done to improve the overall dance experience, for everyone, and that this is a lot of extra effort to organise, so good for you for trying this.

On the other hand, a strict limit on numbers seems a bit, I dunno, draconian... what do you do if you want 200 attendees, and you sell (say) 80 men's tickets and 100 women's, then a couple arrive, or even a group of 5 men and 1 woman? OK, I guess if you don't sell on the door, that's different, but you can just see problems in some situations. Having said that, it's been done before, so it can't be too problematic.

In some ways, the male/female ratio difference is the opposite to most nightclubs, so how about providing incentives - like a discount for men? (heh, self-interest rears its ugly head). Or we could have "Gentlemen's night" instead of "Ladies night" :)

Or we could have "Gentlemen's night" instead of "Ladies night" :)In parody of a certain other form of "partner entertainment", how about a "Greedy Girls" event, where the men get in free (so to speak...)? I see it as something Gorgeous Gus could promote - purely for its obvious alliterative attraction, of course.

Back on thread ... having heard a few of Dan's sets and knowing the wonder that is TWK .... I am surprised that people are wasting their time 'scoring points' and not making more effort to make sure they get a ticket!! Should be a great night .... Greenwich natives are friendly and its a good floor. I think the efforts to ensure even numbers should be lauded and not subject to anal retentivness (am I being too vague? )

I think the efforts to ensure an enjoyable dance experience, possibly even at the expense of short-term revenue, should indeed be lauded, and I hereby laud them :) Good luck to Dan, and I hope his hard work pays off and is appreciated.

However (hey, there has to be a "however"), what I'm less clear about, or possibly just anal about, is how effectively "even number enforcement" works to that aim, or whether other mechanisms (not greedy girls!) might be worth exploring.

Let's face it, if it were £5 for boys and £10 for girls, that'd pretty much guarantee even numbers or even guys over, with no admin overhead required, beyond the ability to tell a boy from a girl :)

OK, maybe it's not the most interesting topic in the world, but I think my Corrie (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5260) thread more than makes up for it in world-shattering significance...

  to the people arranging this event.

Putting their "revenue on the line" - trying to address the "gender balance" issue written about much on the forum - but for once, actually doing something rather than talking. Pretty novel

By the way Gus, of what were you thinking being retained in this hypothetical anus? Hmmm? Hmmm?
