Has anyone else been following Steve Fosset's amazing attempt to fly solo, non-stop, unrefuelled around the World? He took off on Tuesday from Kansas and has now been airborne for some 50 hours. He is currently less than an hour off the California coast having almost crossed the Pacific and hopes to arrive back in Kansas sometime tonight.
It's touch and go whether he's going to make it, as the fuel situation has been giving him problems, but he's had some favourable tail winds over the Pacific.
Apparently he has been able to catnap for a couple of minutes at a time, but it is an extraordinary feat of endurance both for him and the specially-built "Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer".
You can follow his progress here (http://www.virginatlanticglobalflyer.com/MissionControl/Tracking/)
Good Luck Steve - and can anyone recommend a good manicurist? I don't think the ladies will be too keen on dancing with me at the rate I'm biting my nails!!
