Freestyles bring in dancers from a wider area.

On saturday I was amazed, awestruck, humbled, by the performance of one of those visitors. Black T-shirt, black leather pants, black complexion (how much significance should we attach to those?); a sheer enjoyment in showing off his skills and yet every opportunity given to his partner of doing likewise.

I've read about body rolls, ripples, shimmies, and now have a better understanding of what these terms should convey. Way beyond my comprehension or capacity. No way, even in my prime, could I have danced in this way.

How much are we limited, empowered, by our race, cultural identity ??

He is a local teacher .......
That doesn't surprise me - in fact he seems to have quite a lot in common with "H" up here in Cheltenham.
