In honour of silly week I think a tribute to 'I'm a celeb...' is in order...

So, are there any mad folk out there fancy going into the bush to get muddy, camp with rats, eat maggots and generally be silly?

Let me know if you're going into the camp and the fun can begin!

Ant or Dec - who knows?

You can be dressed as anything you like, as long as you're in the camp!
Who will join Mr Scathe? - I promise to keep him chained to a tree until you have all found something to defend yourselves with ;)

Can I also point out that in order to have a cleavage you would need to be wearing clothes, most men prefer subtle to full on 'tits oot', or maybe thats just me :)

I heard a quote from some famous businesswomen who i forgot the name of, she used her IQ to get ahead in business and her cleavage to lower the IQ of her male counterparts. :)

Hey Simon, I know you are a macho man, but weilding a lawnmower to trim a bush, that sounds like hard work to me!
Take my advice, it's much easier with a hedge trimmer.

OK, at the moment I have no access to the forum over the weekends, so first day of camp will be Monday...

... roll up roll up, one and all - come join the fun!
Bush-tucker trials begin on Monday - and let's face it, the more people work on them, them more likely it is you won't be stuck eating beans and rice all day!

Unfortunately I was otherwise engaged yesterday afternoon onwards. I had the pleasure of taking a car load of teenage girls to see Busted in Wembley

While they were in there Sue and I went to Ikea for dinner and bought some nice cushions - feminine side, what is Pammy thinking of?

p.s. Is Martin Harper going to give me positive rep for using the question mark above? It is a rhetorical question, I used the correct punctuation. If you're going to criticise someone for getting something wrong it seems logical that you would praise people for getting the same thing right.

p.p.s. Let it drop? Moi?

Today's Bush Tucher Trial

Your task today is to come up with a celebrity-chef-style recipe for a bush-tucker feast using the ingredients provided below:

500g rice
3 live widgety grubs
a yam
4 kangaroo's testicles
500g beans
a small pile of mealworms
and six cockroaches

Your cooking utensils are, of course, basic. You have an open fire on which to cook and no electricity, but you are to make it sound like a meal fit for a king. Please also indicate which chef you are modelling yourself on.

If you manage to make that lot sound appetising then you deserve a proper meal!

Good luck!

Try this link (http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/y1/yam.asp): it's a type of vegetable.

Here's my menu:

Pilaf de Widgety Grub
A timbale of deliciously spiced rice topped with a live Widgety Grub

Yams Farcies
Smoky ripe yams roasted over a real wood fire and stuffed with tasty mealworms

Cassoulet Couilles de Kangourou
Kangaroo testicles barbecued then slowly cooked in a bean casserole until they're ready to melt in the mouth

Fricasee de Cafards
Sweet and tender flash fried cockroaches

Bardsey's Bush Tucker Recipe

Finely chop Kangaroo testicles, widgety grubs, cockroaches. Mix together, then lightly fry over the open fire. Set to one side when a nice even brown. Now add mealworms to this same pan and lightly fry until nicely translucent. Set to one side.

Take yam, peel and cube, then drop into boiling water for 15 minutes. When yam is nice and soft, remove from water (do NOT throw water away). Put yams to one side. Put rice into previously used boiling water and boil for 15-20 minutes.

Take first "meat" mixture, mix in beans and pop into suitably ready-washed dish (should find one under Pammy's hammock...... God knows what she uses it for). Then take yam and pound with ready-washed stone until nice and fluffy (the yam that is, not the stone!) Place yam mixture on top of "meat" mixture and there you have it.....Kangrubroach Pie! Finally, mix mealworms with rice and serve along side pie. YUMMY!!!

Your meal for each member of the camp tonight will be chicken, potatoes and carrots (better than rice and beans anyday!).
The food you receive will be indicative of how tough the trial is... so look out for the next bush tucker trial!
