That web site assumes you are going to paste the code into a web page - it's just HTML.

The forum software seems to want you to put [ img ][ /img ] (but without the spaces within the []s ) round the actual web address of the pic.

As in:

http://www.bbspot.com/Images/News_Features/2003/01/os_quiz/slackware.jpg

Hit the quote button to see exactly what's going on.

For a pic that isn't on the web, you have to upload it with the manage attachments button down at the bottom IIRC.
