Well I went to bed 8am this morning and was up by 10,30am, at least journey home only 4hrs not the 8hrs getting there !

Illl be shot for this but although great etc I thought most of the classes I attended were not as good as May. Seem a lack of preperation in a lot of classes.

The weekend at Southport was just fabby! I've never been before so the whole experience was brilliant, had a lot of excellent dances (some from my own "clan" but quite a number from the wonderful "smoothies" down south), everyone was really friendly and the classes I attended were great. The music in all 3 areas was so good, I couldn't make up my mind where to go next!

p.s. My only disappointment was I didn't manage to meet many forumites as I missed the gathering :( ....hopefully have more opportunity of doing so on Saturday.

Dance Demon - just luuuuuuuv his music and his dancing  :yeah: Was really enjoying the music last night – but too tired to last the pace (and had to give a lecture at 3pm back in Belfast). Having to sleep at some stage really gets in the way of dancing!

- and of course thanks to the Jive Addiction boys for putting on a great weekend  :yeah: :yeah: Yes – big thanks to John and Wes.

Can't think anymore, gonna soak in a warm bath now to soothe my acking limbs I found out that one of my students is running a solo dance class at the college - so I ended up doing 1 1/2 hour class this evening... So now I am really tired!

I had a lovely dance with Dancing Girlie - who appeared from nowhere at around 2.30am on Monday morning. I would like to say that she is a lovely dancer and one of the prettiest girls I saw all weekend - along with all the other prettiest girls I met ...

.. which was, of course, all of them (added hastily before I get into even more trouble) :flower:

As already mentioned the Dance Demon played a couple of wonderful sets and also liked Peter Philips effort on the Sunday night.

I'd also probably echo the sentiments that the teaching was probably not as high a standard as it was in May, although this may have been in part to some of the workshops being massively overcrowded IMHO.

Highlights for me was definately the Sunday night freestyle where there was a bit more space, meeting some of the forumite's who I'd not really met previously, and letting Lory invent new moves on me including the Shampoo and a move which for some reason seemed to involve me getting my nipples twisted

Also some truly marvelous slow dances later on in the night

I really enjoyed meeting some other forumites and deciding if they matched my mental image of them. (DS certainly didn't, not nearly blue enough!) And a huge thanks for the many dances I had, all of them delightful.
Sunday seemed a lot less exhausting than Saturday, what a shame we couldn't have danced through Monday as well.

It was a brilliant weekend. My legs and feet felt like they were ready to drop off by yesterday - still - it was worth it!

I didn't bump into many forumites till 2.30 Monday morning in the Blues Room but better late than never! It was good to put faces to names inparticularly Lori, Minnie M, Chickadee, Lynn, Zebra Woman. Had some lovely dances with IainL and Mr Par (my arms are SO much longer now  ) - thankyou!

Andy - I shall forgive you for forgetting my name after those lovely compliments  Thanks for the dance - it was great even though it was so late :nice:

It was good to find you too IanH - thanks to Geoff of course!

I hardly took any pictures all weekend - didn't have time!

Southport was a fab week-end for me, as I had my 2 little boys with me, I didn't do any of the workshops / classes but spent the days at the funfair, beach, etc... but once the boys were asleep I had a brilliant time dancing through the night and all of you who danced with me, thank you!
You really made my week-end, and I felt like I was floating on air both nights... The music was fab and I really liked the Latin & Blues room but had some great dances in all rooms.
Dance Demon and Trampy really did Scotland proud with some fab and inspiring tracks. I also loved Lounge Lizard's Latin set :worthy: .

I had so many incredibly sexy dances over the week-end that I'm still reeling from the excitement, and can't thank you all enough.

It was brill to meet face to face so many forumites, but only sorry I had to miss the initial Forum reception... It was too early.

A huge well done to the JiveAddiction team, organizing an event that big and having things run as smoothly as that is an incredible achievement!
Thanks for inviting me and allowing my children to join me, they had a great time, and I loved everything...

I failed to get to the Forum Gathering, due to the bloomin' traffic on the M6* :tears:
I subsequently missed dancing with loads of forumites because I didn't find out who you were until too late, if at all  I did have some wonderful dances with those I did meet and am looking forward to the BFG to catch the rest of you  Likewise meeting all the chaps of course. I'm not going to name names, for fear of leaving someone out, but thanks for a fab weekend everyone.

Hi Gang,
What a fab weekend again!!!.
Many thanks to Jonn and Wes and the addiction crew for organising another faultless weekend. I took it steady this time and spent the most of my evenings in the blues room, the classes I did were really great. Thankyou to all the ladies I danced with , it was lovely to see everyone from the forum and renew some other dancing friendships.
Have booked for scarborough and southport next year so see you all there if not before.

What a fab weekend. i couldn't post anything last night coz I was too tired. The drive home was an experience and a half, in a gale force wind after three hours sleep  .....Would take a whole page to say thanx to everyone, but thanks to Mr & Mrs Scathe for being fab room mates, and to all the lovely ladies I managed a dance with over the weekend, Especially the luffly Minnie Mouse (kindred spirit  ), Lory, who claims I have nicked her music collection :D and Mrs Under Par for a couple of fab dances. Nice to meet loads of other forumites, some for the first time and others for nenewed acquaintances. Spent most of the time in the blues room, even when I wasn't DJing. Lounge Lizard played a well wicked set on sunday night :waycool: ....Really enjoyed the classes I did do, including David & Lily's west coast swing(more please), Amirs tango fusion, and watched Simon Selmons blues class from the stage whilst playing the class music. Was fascinating to watch.
Finally, well done once again to John & Wes for all their sterling efforts, and thanks for inviting me to play the Blues room. This was my first time Djing at a weekender and I had a ball. thanks also for all the nice comments and compliments about the sets I had much pleasure in playing.

hi
sorry I did not make the forum meeting - I had to cover DJ slot in main hall cos of delays on M6...had to do the same in the Latin room and ended up with a two hour slot, which for my first ever Latin Slot was really enjoyable.

Comments on standard of class being low/easy...please if the drops and seducers class was too easy tell me - I taught about 12 seperate moves in May, this weekend I linked about 8 moves that were not complicated and suitable for a crowded dance floor

As a teacher i rely on feedback to get the class right, often when we are teaching it seems to be going really well, but it is how YOU the dancers feel when the class is over that matters if you walk off bored or confused then I have failed - if you have a smile and cant wait to try the moves out then I got it right.
Personaly I teach at about 8 weekenders a year for about 5 years now so some will be good some not so good - feeback on the open forum or PM would be welcome.

I guess that providing it is sensible feedback and not just a moan I am sure other Teachers (and DJ's) would welcome feedback without the luvie factor.

My observation -(with my teachers hat on)
I teach moves that are great for finishing the dance with - Why oh Why do some DJ's cut off the end of the record (often cos they are poor downloads).
Please let the bl**dy record finish 6 tracks in a row cut short in the main hall was too much

Finaly if you were in the awesome foursome class thank you, we had a great time - James & Melanie... simply the best yet

OK OK I'm finally awake! Well, I WAS on a working weekend! (must remember to leave hairdressing equiptment at home next time :na: )

I was there to the very end, 6-30am! I had the last dance of a fantastic weekend with Wes and nearly fell asleep on his shoulder, bless, just before the group hug, with about the only 10 that were left!

I had so many highlights to my weekend and I thought about just saying thank to everyone, you know who you are but NO, a few people need a special mention

Colin, my hero, the drive up there was a nightmare, I'm so grateful to you, for offering to drive me! I hope I kept you entertained with my singing! :D

Chickadee, NO-ONE could ever eat noodles like you, it has to be seen to be believed! How the hell does someone laugh a noodle out of their nostril??????? :what:

Franck, you're a special one! But I had a feeling I knew that even before we met!

Sheena! BABY! are you sure we're not twins? he he

Rhythm King. You need to dress in that fancy-dress style ALL the time, you looked awesome!

And Miss Sparkles, I was so impressed, she made that black sparkly number herself!!!

Underpar, now how could a 6'8" fairly NOT win? you were weird, wacky AND wicked!

Alex and Azande, woooooooo sexy couple, or WHAT! :yum:

Dave Hancock! I love you baby! I can still hear your laugh in my head! We had so many fantastic dances and the funny thing is, the mistakes were the best bits! You did the ultimate move of the weekend... that dive through my legs was nothing less that erm, words fail me! Pure entertainment! and the photo I have of you, replicating the face you pulled at the end of one of our dances will be treasured for EVER! it says it ALL!
By the way, you forgot to call me Moose! he hehe

Royboy, you are one smooth mover! :waycool:

Johnah, how did you get 4 spins out of me???? Fabulous!

Dreadful Scathe is by mo means dreadful enough!

Andy Mcgregor! THAT PIC HAS SCARED ME FOR LIFE! and no, I can't see how I can post it, the forum would need a special adult licence!

It was the first time I'd seen Mouth to Mouth, it was so funny and very cleverly put together, well done guys!

I have to be honest and say, I didn't really get to sample much of the music, other than in the blues room......reason, it was just too damn good to leave and go anywhere else!
Dance Demon, LL and Trampy, brilliant job boy's! :worthy:

And finally, a big thank you to everyone else from the forum, your all brilliant, ROLL ON THE BFG!

I have about 80 pics, any suggestions on how to post them?

Fantastic weekend! Stayed in the Blues room Saturday night/Sunday morning til the bitter end. It was fantastic, had some brill dances!

I went to some fabby workshops, one of the best was the Awesome Foursome..great fun! Thanks to Peter and partner (sorry, can't remember her name) and James and Melanie. I know I spent a lot of time on the floor, laughing like a drain, but we caught on and did the whole routine to our great satisfaction, even to me being carried out of the Latin Quarter stretched across my men's shoulders! Fantastic fun, can't wait to put it into practice!

Once again ... great time at Southport!

Wonderful inspiring dancing and dancers to watch and to dance with.

It's only my third non-competition weekend, and this time I really noticed the more varied and extreme styles .... Marc in particular!! It really serves to encourage me to expand my envelope .... risk, and try doing it as differently as I can!

Great to meet you northantsgirly ... looking so gorgeous! ... I'll be planning on getting down that way sometime .... maybe Daventry where I'd hope to bump into you.

Wonderful to dance with you, Lisa, of Aberdeen teaching fame! Great watchin you dance with Marc on the blues floor Sat early eve. I'm checking out the trains to get up to Aberdeen for a Beach Ballroom romp, as I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms for only getting the one dance!!! :tears:

Hope to meet a whole load more of you Scots up there to! 'Specially Sally ... another wonderful bright star!

Finally .... a huge  :worthy: to 'Mouth to Mouth'. My personal favourite team routine to date (after watching 3 years of comps). Serious hats of to the choreographer .... well inspired ... truly magnificent creativity! Thank you.

Big dance floor? Bit crowded for my liking .... in the evening. Ace during the day though ... between workshops! Latin Quarter? Wonderful little intimate dance floor ... spent lots of evening hours there. Blue Haven? Great in the evening. Good on Saturday early eve ... for a little light dancing with space.

Workshops? Some were very crowded  Is there a place for signup sheets? To limit numbers? Might be better all round .... might scare a few people off.

All in all .... still a great weekend .... and dead easy to cool off in the wind and the rain outside!!!

Hats off to JiveAddiction!!

I had a lot of fun...

Water Coolers. I liked these very much! Were they there in May - don't remember  ? I think they may have underestimated demand, though, as they were empty at times.

I think the workshops could have worked with lots of people if the video projectors had worked better. Good idea but there were 2 cameras in different places with different angles. This meant that the teachers lined themselves up using the screen they could see behind them (when it worked), but the picture off to the side was different and people missed crucial details, especially if the moves had footwork. Placing the 2 cameras closer together would have helped.

Noticed the dancefloor in the Latin quarter was bigger and covered in one material throughout, rather than a patch of polished floor in the middle and boards round the edges. Definitely an improvement compared to May.

I was interested in how the big dancefloor changed - it started "sticky" on Friday night but got faster as the weekend progressed.

I thought the lighting was a bit odd on Saturday night in the main ballroom. It was too dark on the bar area, and at the back of the main dancefloor (furthest from the stage) it was lit by dazzling lights that got in your eyes more than they illuminated. I didn't dance with some people that I would have liked to, and I think I just didn't find them in the gloom.

Thanks to all the wonderful people I danced with  , and apologies to those I missed. :tears:

I drove up Thursday night (cos I had DJ equipment for main hall) arrived at 2am friday morning, John & Wes had started laying the floor in both halls around midnight, I sneak off to bed return about 10am friday morning, they are just finfishing the floor having worked through the night.

Chatting to John and asked him if he was off to bed his reply was "no got to make sure everything is going ok and look after anyone arriving early".
The guy had been awake for 24 hours!!
I DJ'd the Latin Set Friday night, finished at two, chatting to Wes and discover he had not been to really bed since Wednesday!!!!!
(bl**dy good stuff this addreneline)

Throughout the weekend whether DJ'ing teaching or dancing these guys were ever present...and more to the point VERY social.

I have worked at a lot of weekenders laying floor, DJ'ing, teaching and generaly running around like a headless chicken, but in the quiet moments I hid in my chalet and rested......not these guys.

On top of all that Wes badly burnt his hand on the Thursday, it looked really painfull but it did not slow him or affect his friendly approach to all around him.

It is not only the dancers that they pamper it is the teachers & DJ's.
Organising an Event like this is enormous to please 1200 MJ dancers with the right mixture....Oh boy

I know that on the road to their success they may have upset a few teachers/organisers etc. but they have built their success on the back of hard work effort and skillfull manegment.

I am often direct with my comments if I disagree with someone but I am also direct with my praise (and I do not do the luvie stuff) - These guys deserve huge praise and respect.
It is the behind the scenes bit that makes the difference.
If I am invited back to Southport (which I hope I am) I would really like to sit at the bar with Gus and enjoy the weekender.

So to John and Wes thankyou and VERY well done

But, if the old guard are to survive the new competition they need to see this as a call to WAKE UP!!Good point ... the Southport guys have made a real advancement on the Jivespree offering (that and the fact that its North of London and so must be good  ). It will be intersting to see how the other groups who do similar stuff will react. Beach Boodie and Rock Bottoms had already offered an improved services (though smaller) ... but Soutport has showen you can take the same levels of customer service and present it on a bigger scale. Will JiveSpree respond? Will Ceroc enter the fray. Will Ribby Hall (Blitz) meet the high standards set by Southport. I expect, given the laws of supply and demand, that the weekender market will become busier next year. I think JiveAddiction are running about 5 events, Party Wekeender have a couple, Beach Boogie/Rock Bottoms have about 5, Jive Spree must have a few ... Blitz will probably run one or two and I've heard of another couple of organisations joining in.

But, if the old guard are to survive the new competition they need to see this as a call to WAKE UP!!The old guard have had a successfull formula for a while now, way way before this southport we got Emails advising of changes and new ideas (no I do not know the details).
I have no doubt John & Wes learnt a few ideas from 'the old guard' and in turn the 'old guard' will learn from the Jive addiction formula, the real benefit is to the dancers cos standards will immprove.

If you are an organiser of a successfull weekend event it is a big step to make major changes, it often helps if other events 'test the market' with new ideas.

To me it appears the next Jive addiction event is a Rock Bottoms formula with the best in a hotel location, it sounds great and should be as popular as RB.

My previous posting was in praise of John & Wes, it was not an oppertunity to have a 'pop' at other organisers.

One of the major points at southport was the bluesroom bar area, this is a fantastic social area to mix, have dancing all day, sit in the sun & drink on the balcony, watch teachers practice their routines etc.

No matter how hard other organisers try at their events if the venue does not have this facility, they can't create it.

Give John & Wes the praise they deserve, please do not use it to critisise others.
I am looking forward to Camber with the same enthusiasm as Southport.

So you guys way out west when is the 'Brean Sands Bonanza' (made up name) going to happen

{ODA MOde ON}The big questions is ... will this be the start of the end for the local club freetsyles?{ODA MOde OFF}
no.
- it's expensive
- people want to assimilate all the information from one before going to another (I assume)
- people want somewhere to try out these new things
- people don't want to live out a suitcase every weekend; it's nice to sleep in your own bed once in a while {it's nice to sleep once in a while :D}
- If you don't support your local venue, it will vanish
- If you only dance at weekenders, don't you run the risk of becoming a "hotshot"?

I think that there will reach a saturation point for weekenders (52? ) that will affect the numbers attending every other weekender, then due to decreased numbers, some will fall by the wayside.

{Actually, this should really be another thread...}

{ODA MOde ON}The big questions is ... will this be the start of the end for the local club freetsyles?{ODA MOde OFF}If there are more weekenders, it's not going to help with the "Not Enough Saturdays" problem if people start moving freestyles to avoid clashing with nearby weekender events.

On the other hand, you can only go to so many weekenders. If they're usually over £100 a go, not including travel, when your local freestyle is £7 or £8 and nearer, I think many people will still go to their local club.

Time for a thread split methinks
jive weekenders in 2005
Jive addiction - 5
Jive Time - 3
Rock Bottoms 5
Party Weekenders 3
Beach Boogie 1
Boogaloo promotions 3
Rebel Roc -1
Stompin - 1
Ceroc....?
Blitz.....?
AN Other

Then there is the dance holiday breaks

Plus the BIG events
BFG
Jive Masters

think you could be right Gus, Freestyle nights may suffer, locally to put on a dance at same time as Camber or Bognor is a risky thing with low numbers cos the dancers who do not go to weekenders stay at home cos they expect everywhere to be quiet cos of weekender!!!!

but the weekenders can only sustain a limited number, quality and variety will win

think you could be right Gus, Freestyle nights may sufferIts ALREADY happening. Because of the Southport wekeend, other freestyles in the NWest had to change resulting in about 4 events taking place on the Saturday before Southport.

For myself I've had to cancel what would have been my 2nd biggest night of the year, my November 6th freestyle as it clashes with the Ribby weekend. Thats a big hit financially as these freestyles provide the cash to support the weekly club nights which currently are a cash drain  Its only going to get worse. When you consider that most freestyles probably only have around 100/150 dancers ... take out the top 20/30 dancers for a weekender and you will really notice the difference.

This is NOT having a go at weekenders ... they have as much right as anyone to carry on and do business, but I do fear that the growing popularity of weekenders may negatively impact on freestyles.

{ODA Mode ON}AND THIS IS NO BAD THING! Its about time that the freestyle operators got off their butts and started to improve the freestyle offering. Too many venues either pack too many in or play bland or undanceable music. Promoters have a choice, either improve the quality of their events or go out of business. :sick: {ODA Mode OFF}

Yep - this should go off into another thread - can we have a split?

There are those of us who don't have any local freestyles. I know NI is on the very fringe of things so maybe no other areas have this problem but for us here, weekenders are the things that will keep the dancers going to the stage where people will want local freestyles. In fact some of us are getting together to dance tonight - on a small scale but our first freestyle. Might only be 15 people (only arranged yesterday!) and only for a couple of hours but it wouldn't be happening at all if we hadn't just got back from a weekender.

Only been to Southport so can't compare with other ones but we have all been very impressed.

It was a fantastic weekend all round with the dancers, music, teachers and venue. I definitely got my dancing fix with some awesome dances. The sore feet and sleepy eyes were worth it!

My own personal disappointment was that I missed El Nico and Nia’s class 'cause I loved their classes in May. I also love watching Nia dance. So inspiring!

Illl be shot for this but although great etc I thought most of the classes I attended were not as good as May. Seem a lack of preperation in a lot of classes.

The ones I did were brilliant!! Mark & Simone's classes were inspiring, as were Amir & Kate's, they're true professionals, Mikey's Latin Passion class was brilliant and Sue Freeman's class teaching the Maddison Stroll was one of the most enjoyable I've ever done! I learned some great style tips from Leon & Lydia and Simon and Taina were amazing!! Just sorry I couldn't do more.

Everything about the weekend was better than May!! Well done the Jive Addiction team.

It was certainly a great weekend, but I do have some complaints :)

The main hall was busy enough that it put some people off attending classes, which is a shame as there were great classes in there.

The volume of the dance game was too low and the staff refused to turn it up as they had orders to keep things quiet. bah. Still, didnt stop Lindsay beating theTramp at it ;).

More strolls - does no one know the cha cha slide except for Melanie ? She could have done a class on that, at least to the people on stage with her :). And was there any other stroll music played, at least The Maddison as there was a class on that ? I wasnt in the main hall the whole time so maybe they did the Maddison one night ?

Not enough scantily clad nurses. I only counted 8 of them, more next year please!

When you consider that most freestyles probably only have around 100/150 dancers ... take out the top 20/30 dancers for a weekender and you will really notice the difference.Been thinking some more about this.

There are more of what I'd call "semi-weekenders" springing up. You have workshops during the day (maybe with some "A-list instructors" :innocent: ) , then a freestyle in the evening, maybe with a cabaret act or 2. Preferably held in a big venue so you can get lots of people in to the evening event with space to dance, and ideally showers so you can freshen up between workshop & party.

People can turn up to the freestyle as they would to any other local freestyle night, but the workshops can attract more people in from further afield.

IMO it's a good compromise - you still get lots of people in to dance with, and you learn something, but there's still an evening freestyle for those that just want that. It also only takes up one day of your weekend for people with a life outside dance. Most people are near enough home to sleep in their own bed afterwards so you're not paying for accomodation/living out of a suitcase etc.

I expect these have happened elsewhere for some time, but there seem to be more in my area than there were last year for instance.

I can see more of these happening in future (I hope so anyway).

Lynn

It also only takes up one day of your weekend for people with a life outside dance. What's that? (I wish! At this rate I'm only going to get to dance MJ about 3 times a year!)

We have run one of those afternoon and evenings and it was great - drew in more dancers than the regular class would have and we allowed enough time in between for people to eat and shower.

And re the class size - I did leave a class because it was so big and there was so little space that I kept getting crashed into other people so left before I was injured! But the flexiblity to decide what class you want to go to, or not do a class because you feel tired (nothing to do with dancing til 6am of course!) is great. So not sure how you would control numbers in the very big classes.

DavidB
22nd-September-2004, 01:59 PM
I had two completely different views of Southport - teaching this time, but doing nothing (except drinking!) in May. Have to admit I far preferred it in May, even with a hangover.

Some organisations really go out of their way to help the teachers.
- For the classes allowing them input in what to teach. DJs for the class. Assistants to help organise the rows. Bottles of cold water on stage. Spare radio mics. Sanitising wipes to clean the radio mics.
- For the cabaret they provide time for sound checks and walk throughs. Space to warm up. Control over the lighting. Cleaning the floor.
- And off the dance floor decent clean accomodation. Towels and carpet in the rooms. Somewhere to park your car.
And whether you are a first-time teacher, or have been doing it for 20 years, you should get treated the same.

Rock Bottoms are far and away the best in the way they treat the teachers. All of the others have a long, long way to go.

We dance, teach and perform for fun, and not for a living. We don't go to events to promote ourselves. We go because it should be an enjoyable weekend. If we don't enjoy it, we just don't go again.

Quite agree with you David. Many of us give up valuable time (and money) to teach at these events and whilst we may get free entry and free digs, the digs are usually acceptable at best and miserable at worst...

In saying that, we're usually mucking in with everyone else anyway and we are all in the same situation punters and teachers / DJ's etc... ('spose the advantage is not (usually) having to pay for it).

MJC were really good with water, mics, DJ's if needed etc (although I'll avoid the digs issue and bring a tent next year). Organisation was bang on form my experience.

I have noticed recently (and probably triggered by the Rock Bottoms crew setting the standard) an increase in the more 'intimate' weekenders.

I taught last year on the (probably unknown) R&E Roc weekends, set up by a taxi dancer Big Ron and his colleague Esther from CerocMetro land (JiveMasters September heat this Sunday at Chigwell).

He arranged a quiet weekend away for twenty or so people, asked a couple of teachers and DJ's along to provide the entertainment and lo and behold it has grown to a respectable (but still intimate) sixty or so people happening in really nice hotels along the South Coast.

He does it at cost and covers just the accommodation charges for teachers and DJ's in the price and also makes it half board with parties on Friday and Saturday and only two or three really good workshops giving people time either for 1-2-1 lessons with the teachers or tourist time in the local area.

Very successful they are too....

Mind you, still looking forward to Camber later this year...!!! :worthy: :worthy:

Unpacking my case at home & realised I had forgot to empty the drawer that 5 of my favourite T shirts were in..... :tears: ...Good news tho' I phoned Pontins and they've got my T shirts......Bad news is it's costing me a tenner to get them back...

On the way home....negotiated my way back through Preston following M6 signs...and at the big Roundabout i took the turn for the M55 by mistake and ended up in Blackpool....

But even better.....was talking to two ladies who were seen in sexy nurses outfits on Saturday night.......won't say who coz I don't want to embarrass Lindsay & Dancing Girlie.... :D ........and they told me that they negotiated their way to the M6......headed on down the road, smiling at the traffic cops as they sailed past at 85mph.........then realised that they should have been heading on UP the road......and realised their mistake when they reached ............BIRMINGHAM.... :D ..........WAY TO GO GIRLS

Another journey home story ...........

Stopping off at a service station on the M6 - Chickadee and I were chatting, Andy McG off to get a coffee - when a strange man came up to us. He said he was at the Southport weekend and recognised us, but it wasn't us he meant, he said it was Andy that he remembered from the Blackpool Comp as Andy had asked for his help to do up his dress - he said he never forgets a face

Having seen Andy in a 'naughtical' environment (spelling is correct by the way...), I was thinking more last chicken in Sainsburys........

Although surgery may have improved both quality and quantity....

Did you see the tatoo he has along the length....???

It sez " MANY ", when he is with a crowd of people.....

When alone and intimate with Andy it sez,

" My name's Andy and I would like to thank you for the wonderful experience - have a nice day "

i've just come home to find a nice letter from Cumbria constabulary, who clocked me doing 82mph on the M6 at Tebay services on Friday afternoon..........and would like the tidy little sum of £60 and would like to add 3 points to the 3 that I already have on my license. i would really like to suggest that they go and catch some REAL criminals.....but I suppose it would be eaier just to pay up....... :tears: :tears:

It helps if you don't think of Traffic Police as real police who deal with crime. They're really mobile traffic wardens. A while ago I had some dealings with the real police as we were their employers - I asked them how you become a traffic cop. I was told you have a chip fitted ...

.. not that there's anything wrong with Traffic Wardens or Traffic Cops. They have a job to do, I just wish they'd do it when I was obeying the speed limits :tears:

Bad luck dance demon. Maybe you should have had dancing girlie and Lindsey in your car, "smiling at the cops as they cruised by at 85mph"!

I have 6 points on my license too. Got to be careful now
Aren't they soon to increase the speed lomit to 80mph on motorways?

I think the 85 may have been a bit of fib :o ..was just the passenger....but I'm sure there were plenty going a lot faster than 82 DD - sorry to hear. Like you say, pity they didn't catch the 'real' baddies!
