(Might also help Bardsey with a list for the badges!)

No....... we need a poll with the names on it (sorry to sound upset - we have loads of ordinary threads - just not sure how to do a poll with names)

Help please Emma :D

Help please Emma :D What happened there? I started a poll (with names Minnie!) and there were several replies as soon as I posted it! Could the moderators see that I was creating it and add on the other posts? Wow... you guys work hard!

And yes, it needs to have names so we can see who is going!

all came out well in the end  I'm just glad it worked - first poll I've started. I was actually thinking about it the other day but wasn't at the PC (thinking about the forum when not at the PC - is that a worrying sign?!). I got a phone call in the middle of setting it up so had to pause - that must have meant the post came up without the poll options - hence the confusion...

Looking forward to meeting you in Southport! :flower:

If anyone else, in the next 2 weeks, wants a badge, can they PM Pammy and she will let me know, cos they have my mobile number. I'm going to be more or less incommunicado (special mission) until Friday 17th.

Im trying to convince a female friend to attend but she is convince there will be loads more women there and will have to 'stand out' most of the night/s

My recollection is nos were fairly even in May can any confirm this ?.

As a man dancing non stop Im afraid i didn't really take a big note if many women were 'standing out'

She will ask a man to dance but is from the old school and still prefers to be asked

I'm guessing, but I think there may have been 20% more women that men last time, and it was fine. There were a lot to move around during the workshops but I found it very easy to keep dancing at night.

What really helped was meeting the forumites on the Friday night, I got to know 20 new people straight away and that set my weekend off.

I think the fact that it's held in the north makes a big difference too, there is a huge contingent of northereners and Scots who are incredibly friendly. :worthy:  :flower:

John posted some figures in the Southport : Ladies/Men Ratio (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3005) thread.

Now my maths is c*** so I can't make head nor tail of the figures but my impression was that there were significantly more gentlemen than ladies with the usual result that women had to work harder to get a dance. I remember feeling a bit overwhelmed in the main hall by this heaving mass of people and still not finding anyone to dance with! Sitting in the blues room with eyes like saucers was a brilliant antidote to this. And I did have some ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC dances inbetween times, especially later in the evening when the crowds had thinned out a bit. (Wimps- in bed before 3!!)

Last I heard was that 1400 people are going - twice as many as last time? Where will they all fit?

Yes - I noticed it in the workshops, and was being shy about asking guys up in the evenings - but still got quite a few dances. This time the NI contingent will be helping to even up the balence - 5 guys and 2 other women (and I have to travel over on my own with 4 of the guys - poor me! )

Don't worry lovely... There were just under 900 last time, and I understand that John and Wes have limited the numbers to 1200 to ensure maximum dancing enjoyment for all attendees!

I'm hoping there will be lots of people in the new Latin Quarter area that they are opening up this time... I love the latin music. Last time we had the main ball room and the Blues room, so with this area too we should all be very comfy! :D

Lots of happy people still there (sleeping still no doubt) but I'm back at the screenface again tihs morning after a fab weekend and needed to post just a quick line on this:

I KNOW I went completely psycho :really: :tears:  for half an hour until it turned up safe and pocketed for return but you were all so kind and compassionate, I was quite touched. Huge thanks to the lady in red who picked it up off the dance floor, the gent with the pocket and particularly the gorgeous young man with the heavenly eyes in the corner who saw me scanning the floor and made the re-uniting connection!!!

The only blessing so far is there has been no photos posted of THAT obscene costume.

Sadly there has U.P., see the 'Aftermath" thread http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3728 page 4

ps, great to meet you last night at Woking

In a late night conversation with David Barker he said he wasn't as concerned about me wearing a tutu more the fact I referred to it as "my tutu"!!!

I actually blame Trampy!

He gave me a bit of a hard time for NOT dressing up at Southport in May(when he won the prize :worthy: )! So Mrs Par lent me a few items from her vast wardrobe.
