Yawn...

I connected to the net once before installing the secure update or switching on the firewall, and caught the Slammer worm - mea culpa.

Apart from that, and one other daft thing I did that left me with several '00 Mb of pirate video on my HDD due to a friendly hacker, I've never had a virus, worm or trojan.

Bottom line: there's a price to pay for everything. I'd rather have to take a few simple precautions to protect myself, and as a result benefit from a colossal amount of choice of hardware and software (commercial or open source), all at competitive prices.

The people who can't or won't take the relevant precautions, have a simple choice - pay more for something else, or put up with what they have and wait for the situation to improve, which it is doing, all the time.

If they pay more, they also get free, gratis, and for nothing, the luxury of looking down their noses at all us sad Windows users who haven't got a Mac.

Meanwhile the rest of us just get on with our work.

So flame away, Mac users, I'm busy writing .NET code... to run on Windows PCs, naturally :D
