The thread is on about black and white shoes.

there must be a simple explanation or a glitch in the programme.

Every time someone votes on the poll, it updates the thread. But it still gives the name of the last person to post an actual message

That sounds like a bug to me. Is someone working on fixing it?

Few people post on polls, so they would otherwise rapidly disappear down the page. That way, people notice the thread, vote on the poll until everyone has voted, and then it disappears.

I tried to bring a few old polls forwards, but as I had already voted, it didn't work...
You can try it though, and thus bring them back in relevance:

Ladies? What are you looking for in a dance? (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85)

and many more fascinating questions...

Obviously a new definition of both "useful" and "popular".

Posting all these links may have woken them up and got people voting on them, but it's driving me crazy seeing them pop up again and again to the top of the "recent" list, clicking last post and (yet again) the last contribution was 2 years ago.

In all seriousness, I'm not sure these really long standing polls have much meaning as any kind of representation of people's views...

...I know mine have changed in various ways over the last two years, so new polls even on similar subjects to ones we've had before would be better snapshots of what people think now - cos the world has moved on.

Not disagreeing with you, just a judgement call...
The alternative is for (even recent) polls to disappear very quickly, and hardly anyone voting on them.

I fear though, that by listing a few ancient polls I have exacerbated the situation, but in the process some old discussions, and even some long forgotten forum members have come back to the fore... That has to be worthwhile.

Of course if your views have changed, you're welcome to start a new poll on a similar subject, with a short post explaining how your views have changed now... :nice:

As I say, if you wanted to register a change of mind / perspective, I would endeavour to refrain merging threads...

New balls, please. Oh dear, it must be nearly that time, when SW London resounds to the noise of chauffeur driven limos escorting tennis stars around, and you just can't move for the traffic. At least I get another excuse for arriving late.
