...I thought a few of you would perk up at that!!

My Old Faithfuls have done me very well over the last three years and although there's life in them yet (!) I think it's time to move on...

...so...

...could you recommend your favourite dance shoe shop in London please? (Preferably with some clue as to where it is, just to give me a fighting chance...).

I'm thinking of something feminine with wee heels, rather than Blochs etc...

Many thanks!

J :nice:

These are all within about 10 minutes walking distance of each other, so easy to look in all of them.

Gamba is good too, although every now and then they say they are discontinuing their range of non-ballet shoes. They are en route from Freed to Dancia (will have to look up address). I personally think Freed have the best range.

Less handy, but highly recommended is Heavenly Dance Shoes - I've never been but I've seen many pairs  I think they are based out near Bushey. Jayne - if you wanted to go sometime, I'd love to come with you.

oooo...

Thanks David. Chris & I headed out that way when we were looking for outfits for the comp, so I'm vaguely aware of those shops, which will make going there easier!

"Heavenly dance shoes" - now we're talking!! I had a look on Yell & TFL and it's not that hard to get to - Bakerloo to Kensal Green, then direct train to the road where the shop is (although there's no saying where the shop is on the road, I'll phone first...) It's just a case of finding time to go now...

Thanks Divi!

Heavenly Dance Shoes - brilliant. Would never buy anything else now I've had a pair of them. They fit like gloves. I saw a really nice sparkly pair when I was at Camber I nearly bought, but when I put them on, they were as uncomfortable as hell. The heavenly ones are made to fit your feet and go on without leaving blisters etc. when you wear them.

PS Let me know when you're going.

PPS Downside is they take about 3 weeks to make...

Word of advice - general consensus is, don't go for the soft leather finish - scuffs easily - rough glitter seems the most durable - and the fabrics are good too.

There is a factory, which is in/close to Leytonstone which specialises in dance shoes.

Don't know name, styles or address but someone else reading this might.
