Im not going to repeat them all as the only one i wasn't sure of was 19, but i think the Tramp is right.

I think Tramp got 25 wrong though because none of them appeared in the film but they were all in the book.

Question 15 is wrong though - the right answer would be Oliphants not Elephants.

I can't answer this quiz as I have only seen the first one, or some of the first one, I thought it was so boring, I found sitting biting the heads of off my jellie babies more fun and then I fell asleep..!!!

Hmm, I didn't know that one either. (Well, knew it wasn't Beren) - Where are the other names mentioned?

I agree with question 15. But I figured that 'oliphants' was more likely to be meant as 'elephants' than 'tigers', 'camels' or 'mice'.

19 was a toss-up between b. Olorin and c. Beren. But I think that it's c.

Re 19. Names of Gandalf - Mithrander of course (elvish name), Beren no (?), and Olorin yes ('Olorin was I in my youth in the West that is forgotten'), (had to look that one up!!) mentioned in Two Towers. So where is Tharkun mentioned?

If I remember rightly, Tharkun is the name given to him by the Dwarves. No idea which book that comes into though.

"The Grey Pilgrim?" said Frodo. "Had he a name?"
"Mithrandir we called him in elf-fashion," said Faramir, "and he was content. 'Many are my names in many countries,' he said. 'Mithrandir among the Elves, Tharkûn to the Dwarves; Olórin I was in my youth in the West that is forgotten, in the South Incanus, in the North Gandalf; to the East I go not'."

The Two Towers: "The Window on the West"

Tharkûn:
Tharkûn was the name by which Gandalf was known among the Dwarves. It was said to mean "staff man."
(Unfinished Tales: "The Istari")

Neil Thanks. I got the Olórin reference from Silmarillion index but it didn't mention Tharkûn or give exactly where in Two Towers.
