It can hardly be worse than Taroc or Cengo. Most people will try anything once.

Well I may give it a go. Mind you I plan to try Zumba and Pilates also. Anything's better than a Ceroc class. :D

The name isn't so much the issue.

But the music and dance form

I don't think it says whether Ceroc 'meets' brazilian samba or latin samba, but either way are there less compatible combinations of (non obscure) dances.

Maybe it is just a few characteristic samba bits added to a Ceroc routine.

I don't think you'd regret the Pilates. Works wonders on your core strength.

Well, you know, I'm a bit of a novice with this Latin dancing stuff, it's all new to me, I wouldn't want to look silly or anything.

I suspect I'll somehow muddle through.

Just coz you lot haven't seen me do any Latin dancing the past few years, doesn't mean I'm completely incompetent at it, you know?

Actually, I'm pretty sure I don't have anything lycra. The last time I wore lycra dancing was the 24-hour Ceroc marathon in the early nineties. :what:

I did. Quite invigorating actually, but the whole concept is, as I thought, marketing rubbish dressed up as a coherent style. Salsercise / sambacise, basically.

I felt I'd earned my cooked brekkie that day though.

If you're that desperate to perve, I understand there's a thing called the internet which has occasionally had unsavoury material. :na:

This WCS / Samba video posted by Caro reminded me of this.

Having seen it on DVD it is perfectly reasonable. It isn't really a swing dance with some elements of samba added like the above.

It is pure latin samba, except for a couple of travelling returns, thown in to reposition from the end of one move to beginning of the next.

Which probably saves having to teach difficult transitions between moves, and gives a bit of recovery time.
