Just read an article on BBC that wasn't too clear so hope some guru here can help. I hate Windows, love PC's and hate Macs. Is it possible to use Apple's new 'Panther OS' on a PC? If this sounds like a silly question, well the Beeb and Apple's web-site weren't too clear.

Please say yes, I don't have the time to master Linux but yearn to ditch Windows.

Sorry but NO!

You can run Darwin, the *nix core but you wouldn't have the Aqua interface.

The only way is buying a Mac.

Visit: www.apple.com for a good computer! :D

Re. your question, it all depends on the software / hardware you use... No simple answers.

You could always visit the 'Switchers' website on http://www.apple.com/switch/

Most of your questions should be answered there.

Franck.

Boomer, Darwin is the UNIX-based, open source core of Mac OS X. There would be no point in installing it on your PC because you are not going to get what you are looking for, i.e. the Apple interface and the applications that come with OSX. It would be like installing only the Linux kernel without the XFree86 and a Window Manager (with all the available applications).

However, if you want some more information on it you can visit this link (http://developer.apple.com/darwin/). Let me know if you need more info.
