So it seems now that the Amazon Kindle (the e-book reader) is now available for the UK.
I like the ambition - to have every book ever published available......
The reviews I've read seem generally positive - although personally I am not entirely convinced, as the 'feel' of a book is hard to beat. Perhaps as a 'reference' type facility and for holiday reading it could work well (and help the environment - few trees chopped down etc).
When e-books first appeared there was of course a spoof which went around detailing a fancy new flexible thing.....blah blah.....which turned out to be............a book (it is hard to beat a book).
