Here's a quote from an email chat long ago, I'm sure it will explain it all:-

G - "When you describe swing as crap music, are you including things like Indigo Swing, Swingerhead, Louis Prima etc. etc.? "

A - "No - you know that I like that type of music - I think my terminology is somewhat inaccurate! "

G - "Phew! That's OK then, Hegelian Dialectic avoided!"

that one's sorted then!

Symptoms - Loss of helium, flying at floor height and floppy.

Treatment - Unknot thingy, add helium re-knot using surgical procedures.

Prognosis - Not terminal. We CAN rebuild him:waycool:

I confess to having awful dress sense - having three women with me to help me buy clothes is my ideal - and at least one to tell me what to put with what.

But I try to make up for it by being appreciative of my partner's good dress sense.

Presumably all this noble attitude to womens' dress sense goes right out the window when it comes to a dance competition then, since it seems you were the person I was talking about here (http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=46720#post46720)...

(I may have been misinformed, but it was three unconnected people who told me...)

"At the very first comp I went to, I remember seeing a guy hand over a matching t-shirt to his DWAS partner and drag her off to practice the moment they were paired up "

I think you are right - a good few years ago. I got the idea the year before from a DWAS girl who did that to me and I was really touched - I found it a really nice thoughtful thing. (It was a bit of a novelty then too.) Come to think of it, the only time I got placed in DWAS was when Dave Holbrook (Katz's partner on and off the dance floor) offered me a wonderful matching t-shirt off his own back to dance with Katz.

The time I tried it wasn't so successful - from any point of view!

I've never spent much money on competition outfits and if I did it would probably be wasted unless someone else was doing the choosing.

btw when a woman asks me what she should wear I always have to say "let me see it on". I wouldn't describe my attitude as noble - just genuine interest/appreciativeness (used to do photography).

Anyone else? I am sure there are lots of other times I've shown some human failing or lack of taste.

Wearing black till they invent something darker.

Even if you stick to black there's shape, texture and light reflection to consider.

Should it be tight?
Should it be baggy?
To tuck or not?
Shoes, normal or patent?
Shiny or matt black shirt/trousers? - I have a shiny black suit you can borrow if you're a 38 chest:devil:
How about black glitter/sqins (don't tell Pammy, she'll have those 'sqins' pickled in a jar an on her trophy shelf:sick: )

If you're a bit indecisive you'll never even fully explore the world of black, let alone other colours - and then there's stripes:confused:

No wonder Chris needs 3 women to do his thinking for him:devil:
