View Full Version : Christmas Advent

An idea for the run up to Christmas
Each day one male one female forum member is nominated to post a picture of themselves on this thread - not a boring dancing one or anything to rude but something that could make us smile - if nominated the poor sap will have 24 hours to come up with a picture and post it.

The final nomination/selection will be by a snowball (Christmas-Snowball, I am trying you know - VERY) e.g. the nominated person for that day picks the next person for the next day - guys pick girls, girls pick guys

So to start the ball rolling I nominate The Tramp and Sheena to post the first never seen on forum before) photo on 1st Dec (or sooner - but they must post on same day) we then nominate/vote on forum for next person and Steve/Sheena have the final say - this is repeated for the next one.

Whoever is nominated should be notified by PM

This may be a pants or good idea - but if you can explain it better or improve on it feel free

Thanks Peter :devil: At least I've got longer than one day to try to find a photo - something to make you laugh - should be easy :wink: *panic! - where on earth did I put all those photos? Damn, ouch! look out! aaargh! I'm sure they're here someplace :eek: :blush: :cheers:

Oh. Yeah. I 'forgot'. Ummm.....

So, you've already seen me in a kilt, in my underwear (along with someone else's), I don't really have many other photos. So, you'll have to make do with this one.

I call it 'Why I dance'. :D

And since I don't quite understand the rules that Peter suggested, I'm going to pick the girl that should follow me. And maybe Sheena should pick the guy that follows her.....

So, since it's all your fault that this thread got remembered, off you go Miss Salsa Angel. Lets see your worst - your turn to post a picture tomorrow!! :D

Easiest thing to do, assuming that you don't have it on your computer anymore (or you'd just post it as above). Would be to just click the right mouse button on the picture, then 'save picture as' to your computer. Then just post it.

Okie.... Here goes.

Trampy -> Salsa Angel -> Graham -> Aleks -> Dance Demon -> Bardsey -> (Forte &) Psych0diver ->

Sheena -> Dreadful Scathe -> Emma -> Gus -> Filthycute -> Bill

And in a separate line of their own:

Franck -> Lorna

Now. None of the last posters have managed to remember to nominate someone to follow them. Except Bill. Who hasn't yet posted. (Has anyone PM'd him)??

So, I think that Psych0diver should nominate in the top thread (to follow the boy/girl/boy them (though thanks go to Forte for posting her pic anyhow due to Bardsey's greediness :na: ). And someone should go wake Bill up and get him to post (unless anyone has a really, really embarrasing pic of him that they'd like to put up in lieu).

Hope this helps :D

I still think the last-day of Xmas should be a Loungey affair circa the 70's. Rumour has it you have some lovely 70's pics daddyo :grin:

PS, I would like to take this oppotunit to state that the above pic is of Bill, not me :what: 70's Boomer would have been between 0-8 years old. He was also never that hairey.

Ok, the Ping Pong shot isn't all that embarassing, so I'll attach it soon, but until then, to get the ball rolling again, here are some EMBARASSING ones of me in the 80s with some interesting attire on. What possessed my parents to allow me to walk around like this I don't know...

Oh, and I nominate Boomer, and we want THE photo. He knows what I mean by THE photo...

Yes I do, tough luck, that photo never gets posted. You'll have to make dowith this one, which is embarrassing enough.

Well, I was going to say, that's not embarassing, but then I saw that you was AGAIN the only one wearing elasticated slippers (as seen in Debenhams Aberdeen); and there you was saying that's what you wanted for Christmas, but you DIDN'T say that was because your old ones were worn out :what:

Jeeesh!

Won't post the picture but will describe it.....

In the same room as the last piccy, with 3 other guys, (4 man room... don't ask me, it's a military thing... i think!!). I went for a shower, came out of the shower and hey presto... no towel. Had to run back into the room clutching my meat and two veg to be confronted by 3 laughing eejits and a camera.

Is quite funny but you'll never see it...........:wink:

........now, about pammy and boomer's dodgy photo's.........:confused: :confused:

Don’t read this if you are a veggie

Bah Humbug
Bloody Christmas eve
Spent all day preparing the chicken for my traditional Christmas eve dinner
So to be authentic this year I get a fresh chicken, spent four hours plucking the dam thing – are those feathers glued in or what, resorted to a blow lamp in the end looks a bit like a blackbird now but nonetheless effective.
There I am covered in chicken feathers and the bl**dy dustmen knock on the door expecting a tip for spending all year tipping half the rubbish in my garden or leaving the bin in the wrong house,
Postman comes as I am paying the blackmailers, sorry bin men and gives me that ‘what about me’ look, he is a nice social soul and lets me see the mail for the whole street – no matter what number it has on it, it still seems to get posted thru my bl**dy door!

Back to the chicken – how the hell do you get the stuffing to stay in this foul creature, that smug little sod Jamie Oliver does not have this problem I bet.
It is now six hours since I started and it is finally ready, so I cover it in Brandy, well what’s left in the bottle, (it is amazing how much a full bottle of brandy evaporates in six hours [hic!].
Smear on the goose fat, put the baco foil over it [Baco Foil – now that would make a great shirt for Mr McGregor] and put in the oven.
Then pandemonium breaks out the little bugger jumps off the tray and starts running round the lounge leaving a trail of stuffing on the carpet – it didn’t say anything in the book about using a live chicken – how was I meant to know?

To make matters worse the bl**dy goose is making an awful row and bleeding all over the kitchen worktop
Bah Humbug
As for that Turkey I’ll give him gobble sodd*n gobble tomorrow

Come on guys nuf of the sickly crimble stuff what is bad/funny/sad about xmas [preferably in an amusing way]

Powerful Marguerita has oiled finger joints. Just about to prepare some fresh salmon fillet with dill, olive oil, lemon juice etc, washed down with a bit of bubbly and whatever else gets opened. Looks like not one morsel of turkey is likely to pass our lips this festive season. However, check out this website for some of the evil little buggers to shoot down.
